The Bees are back in the EFL after a seven-year absence, after breaking the 100-point barrier in the National League last season.
Dean Brennan is the man at the helm, having originally joined the club as Director of Football to oversee Harry Kewell’s reign, but ended up being given the manager's job just two months later.
He steered Barnet to an unbeaten home campaign last season. They don’t return to the EFL to the same fanfare as the likes of Wrexham, Notts County and Chesterfield, but there’s a chance they’ll be every bit as good.
⚪ New Era at Newport
Newport finished last season one place above the trapdoor, but the expected points table suggests they were lucky to survive, placed 24th.
They have made changes to try and rectify that, bringing in former Manchester United coach David Hughes to replace Nelson Jardim, and even attracting Wales international Matt Smith to join the project.
It will be interesting to see if those two and a raft of other new faces spark any improvement, but in my mind, I have them playing in the National League next season.

These two sides had only met once prior to 2015, but have faced off nine times since then.
Their most recent meeting was in the 2024 FA Cup, where the first leg was drawn 1-1 before Newport won the replay 1-4.
