Level 1 Bet Builder Tip

🎯 Lautaro Martinez to have 1+ Shots on Target 🔄

📈 Odds: 1.40

Martinez has played a much more active role in Inter’s Champions League run this campaign when compared to last season, at least from a goalscoring point of view. Martinez has scored seven goals in the Champions League this season, including scoring the opener in the first leg, compared to just the two goals he managed in Europe last season.

He’s had 16 shots on target across his 10 appearances in the Champions League this season (2.53 per 90) and found the target on three occasions in the first leg. He has formed a promising striking duo with Marcus Thuram, who set him up for the first goal at the Allianz Arena.

Martinez is likely to want to test 21-year-old goalkeeper Jonas Urbig early on here, with the keeper not having much experience of the Champions League at this level. He’s standing in for Manuel Neuer who is still injured for Vincent Kompany’s side. This could prove crucial in deciding the outcome of the tie, as well as encouraging Martinez to try his luck whenever possible.

🛑 Kim Min-Jae to Commit 1+ Fouls 🔄

📈 Odds: 1.67

Kim Min-Jae struggled in the first leg meeting up against Martinez and Thuram, who drew seven fouls between them at the Allianz Arena - 77% of the total fouls Inter suffered in the match, which suggests that he’ll be in the limelight again here.

Kim Min-Jae committed two fouls in the first leg, as well as picking up a yellow card. Martinez and Thuram make up a dangerous attacking duo who can occupy the opposition centre backs and be very difficult to stop, especially when Inter look to break with speed. Marcus Thuram, in particular, is very strong when it comes to winning fouls, he’s averaging 2.36 fouls won per 90 in the Champions League this season and was brought down on four occasions in the initial meeting.

Kim Min-Jae has committed eight fouls across his 12 Champions League appearances this season (0.71 per 90). Inter have already shown that they can force a rise in this average with their threatening front two, who can cause the defender plenty of problems here.

🎯 Bayern Munich to have the Most Shots on Target

📈 Odds: 1.40

Bayern had seven shots on target in the first leg, coming in just under their average of 7.8 shots on target per game in the Champions League this season - more than any other side still in the competition. This metric highlights Bayern’s effectiveness in the final third with the immense attacking quality they have on show.

Inter had four shots on target in the first leg and are averaging 4.5 shots on target per game in the Champions League this season. They’re far more balanced than Bayern and the comparison between these metrics reflect that, Bayern are a bit top heavy in terms of their squad make up which means that they can be quite effective in forward areas but susceptible at the back, leaving their only option to be outscoring the opposition, a tactic that is unlikely to be successful against such an organised Inter side.

Although Bayern may not be able to come through this tie as winners given Inter’s one goal advantage and superb record at home this season, Vincent Kompany’s side can pepper the Inter goal in search of a way back into the tie, which should see them come out on top in the shot on target count, as they did in the first leg.

🟨 Over 1.5 Inter Milan Cards

📈 Odds: 1.33

This selection has landed in each of Inter’s last five games in the Champions League, including the first leg. Inter picked up four yellow cards from just nine fouls in the first leg and have received 22 yellow cards across the Champions League as a whole this campaign.

Inter should look to continue to employ a physical approach with a one goal lead on the line to protect. The middle of the park stands out as to where Inter could pick up their cautions here, they play with three players in central areas which naturally makes it a congested part of the pitch.

This is likely to force Bayern wide, where they are strong with the likes of Leroy Sane and Michael Olise offering difficult 1v1 challenges for their opposite fullbacks, which is another avenue that could force Inter into picking up a few cautions.

Level 2 Bet Builder Tip

🤝 Harry Kane to Score or Assist 🔄️

📈 Odds: 2.20

Harry Kane missed a golden chance in the first leg which could have entirely changed the picture of this second leg. Kane had six shots in total, with two of these attempts finding the target, as well as striking the post early on, which would have given Bayern the lead in the game.

Kane has registered 12 goal contributions across his 10 appearances in the Champions League this season (10 goals, two assists). This is a superb record which builds on his output across the campaign as a whole, with Kane providing 44 goal contributions across his 40 appearances in all competitions.

Kane is on penalties for Bayern Munich and will certainly have the desire to put right those missed opportunities in the first leg to register a goal contribution here. Bayern are also chasing the tie, so they will need to turn to urgency at some point, which should see Vincent Kompany’s side do most of the heavy lifting when it comes to acting as an attacking force in this game.

🟨 Benjamin Pavard to be Shown a Card 🔄️

📈 Odds: 3.75

Only Kristjan Asllani (3) has been shown more yellow cards for Inter in the Champions League this season than Benjamin Pavard (2). Pavard also tops the squad rankings for yellow cards in Serie A this campaign (4), showcasing his tendency to overstep the mark.

Pavard tends to play on the right-hand side of a back three for Inter, which naturally sees him contest many 1v1 duels, especially when he has to come out into wide areas when the fullback has pushed up the pitch and been caught out on transition. He’ll be up against Leroy Sane, who is averaging 0.79 fouls won per 90 across his 12 appearances in the Champions League this season.

Pavard plays for an Inter side that have picked up 2+ cards in each of their last five Champions League matches and picked up four yellow cards at the Allianz Arena. Pavard should find himself in a few situations where he has to bring down a Bayern player which can see him catch the eye of the referee, as he has more times than any other player in the Inter squad in Serie A this season. He looks good value for a booking here.

🧤 Inter Milan GK to make 3+ Saves

📈 Odds: 1.30

Yann Sommer has been a huge part of Inter’s success both this campaign and over the last few seasons. The 36-year-old is an excellent shot stopper who has a wealth of experience at this level. He had to call on that experience to make six saves in the first leg in a man-of-the-match performance.

We can expect Sommer to be similarly challenged here with Bayern chasing the tie and averaging 7.8 shots on target per game in the Champions League. Bayern had seven shots on target in the first leg, which suggests that they’ll have no issue in living up to this average in this game with extra motivation to do so. Sommer could be a busy man on Wednesday night.

🏆 Inter Milan to Qualify for the Next Round

📈 Odds: 1.33

Inter are really strong at home, and this could be the stage of the competition where Bayern are finally caught out for their lacklustre backline which has been caught out on so many occasions in the Champions League this season.

Inter are unbeaten across their last 12 games in all competitions which is a record that has seen them battle to the summit of Serie A, as well as place themselves perfectly to enter the last four of the Champions League.

Inter have won all five of their games at home in the Champions League this season by an aggregate scoreline of 11-2. Feyenoord are the only side to come to the San Siro and score a goal, which underlines the size of the task facing Bayern here, against a side that looks primed to go all the way in this competition.
