  • Dundee have lost just one of their last seven Scottish Premiership home matches.

  • Celtic have won just two of their last five Scottish Premiership away matches.

  • Celtic have lost on each of their previous three trips to Dundee this season - twice against Dundee United and once against Dundee.

Both Teams to Score @ 1.57

I think Dundee carry enough attacking threat to get on the scoresheet on Sunday, which brings both teams to score into the equation at Dens Park. The Dark Blues struck twice in their home victory over Celtic earlier in the campaign, and they also held the Hoops to a 1-1 draw in a Scottish Cup tie at Parkhead just a couple of months ago before losing in extra-time.

Moreover, both teams have scored in five of Dundee’s last six Scottish Premiership home matches, a run that includes a pair of 2-2 draws, as well as a 3-3 thriller with Hibernian. Therefore, Steven Pressley’s side will be quietly confident of landing a blow on a Celtic backline that has failed to keep a clean sheet in each of their last seven top-flight outings.

While Celtic blanked against Dundee United a couple of weeks ago, that was something of a rarity. What’s more, both teams scored in each of the Bhoys’ previous six league matches prior to their loss at Tannadice, further strengthening the case for a repeat here.

Over 1.5 Dundee Cards @ 1.67

I’m keen to back Dundee to collect at least two cards on Sunday afternoon. While the Dark Blues have been far from the most ill-disciplined team in the Scottish Premiership this season, there has been a noticeable rise in the number of bookings they have picked up in recent months.

In fact, Steven Pressley’s side have received multiple cards in four of their last six top-flight fixtures, with four players seeing yellow during a 2-1 home win over Motherwell last month. Dundee also picked up two bookings away at Hearts last time out, and the same applied in their previous home game against Celtic this season.

As for Celtic, their opponents have averaged 1.75 cards per game in the Scottish Premiership this season, and it is worth noting that the Hoops have drawn 2+ cards from their hosts in recent away matches at Rangers, Aberdeen and Dundee United. With the pressure ramping up in the title race with each passing week, I think there is plenty of scope for that trend to continue at Dens Park on Sunday.

Over 11.5 Corners @ 2.05

I tend to target high corner counts in Celtic games, and I think all the signs point towards plenty in their fixture with Dundee on Sunday. Steven Pressley’s side are well drilled and organised, so the Glasgow heavyweights may need to be patient in trying to break the hosts down - a scenario that should lead to a steady stream of corner opportunities.

Moreover, high corner counts have been a feature of Celtic matches for several seasons, and this campaign is no different, with the Hoops’ Scottish Premiership games averaging 10.39 flag kicks per game. That is largely driven by their own output, underlined by an average of 6.78 corners per 90. There is further encouragement from the fact that each of Celtic’s last four league matches away from home have produced 12+ corners.

While Dundee have not been particularly strong from a team corners perspective in the Scottish Premiership this season, I think they can still play their part, especially on home soil. What’s more, the Dark Blues won the corner battle 7-4 away at league leaders Hearts last time out, and they forced five corners away at Celtic in a Scottish Cup tie not too long ago.

Ethan Hamilton - Over 0.5 Shots @ 1.36

Ethan Hamilton has been one of Dundee’s standout performers this season, and I’m keen to back the midfielder to register at least one shot on Sunday. Hamilton has averaged 1.82 attempts per game in the Scottish Premiership this term, pulling the trigger once or more in 23 of his 27 appearances to date.

Notably, Hamilton hit two shots when Dundee hosted Celtic earlier in the season, and he managed one effort in the reverse fixture at Celtic Park. On top of that, the 27-year-old scored a spectacular goal against Celtic in Glasgow during a Scottish Cup tie less than two months ago. Hamilton’s habit of getting shots away was also evident against Hearts last time out, when he let fly twice.

With Celtic’s defence looking vulnerable recently - and having been outshot 19-13 by Dundee United last time out - Hamilton holds plenty of appeal to deliver a minimum of one shot on Sunday.

📈 Dundee v Celtic Form & Stats

Dundee produced a spirited display away at Hearts in their last Scottish Premiership outing, but a late goal ended their five-game unbeaten run. Despite showing signs of improvement as the season has progressed, Steven Pressley’s side are still not completely out of the woods, as they sit just five points above the relegation play-off spot.

The Dark Blues have lost just one of their last seven league matches at home, with that solitary defeat coming against Hearts. Both teams have scored in seven of Dundee's last nine Scottish Premiership home matches, with each of those games also breaking the over 2.5 goal barrier.

Dundee have not been a corner-heavy side this season, averaging just 3.78 per game in the Scottish Premiership. Steven Pressley's side have conceded the opening goal in 20 of their 31 Scottish Premiership matches this season, including 10 of their 15 fixtures at home.

The Scottish Premiership title race took another unexpected twist when Celtic slumped to a 2-0 defeat away at Dundee United two weeks ago. That was the Hoops' eighth league defeat of the season, but only their second under Martin O’Neill, with the other coming against Hibernian at home. Nevertheless, Celtic are now treading a fine line and can ill-afford any more slip-ups if they are to retain their top-flight crown.

Celtic have won just two of their last five Scottish Premiership away matches. It is also worth noting that the Hoops fell to a 2-0 defeat at this venue earlier in the season, while they also failed to defeat the Dark Blues inside 90 minutes in a Scottish Cup tie at Celtic Park in February.

No team has drawn fewer matches than Celtic in the Scottish Premiership this season, with just four of their 31 games ending all square.

📔 Dundee v Celtic Formation & Team News

Dundee boss Steven Pressley typically sets a side up in a well-structured 4-2-3-1 formation, though it tends to represent more of a 4-5-1 system when out of possession.

The Dark Blues come into this clash with an almost clean bill of health, with Clark Robertson the only player expected to miss out through injury.

Celtic have largely operated in a 4-2-3-1 formation under Martin O’Neill across his two periods in charge this season. It’s mixed news on the injury front for Celtic, as Alastair Johnston, Arne Engels and Callum Osmond could return from their respective lay-offs this weekend.

However, Colby Donovan and Julian Araujo are expected to miss out through injury. Meanwhile, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Jota and Kasper Schmeichel are not expected to feature again this season due to long-term injuries.
