📂 Birmingham v Leeds Cheat Sheet
📈 Birmingham v Leeds Form & Stats
Birmingham were left frustrated by West Brom last time, as the Baggies were able to hold on to a 0-0 draw at St Andrew’s Stadium. The Blues accrued 16 shots and three big chances, but were somehow unable to find the back of the net, despite going close on several occasions. As some consolation, that result made it seven games unbeaten for the Blues, and they should come into this weekend's clash with confidence.
Leeds were much more efficient in the final third midweek, as they scored twice from just four shots to earn a point against Chelsea. After going 2-0 down after 58 minutes, it looked like the game was about to peter out, but Moises Caicedo conceded a penalty, which was converted by Lukas Nmecha to give the visitors a lifeline.
Noah Okafor then scored the equaliser just six minutes later, taking advantage of a mess at the back for Chelsea. The Whites have now lost just one of their last six games, and that was against league leaders Arsenal. Still, Leeds remain towards the bottom of the Premier League standings, just six points above West Ham in the relegation zone. Their away form has been poor this season, with just one win from 13 league matches, which again should give Birmingham confidence.
📔 Birmingham v Leeds Formation & Team News
Jayden Bogle contributed to both Leeds’ goals on Tuesday night, as he won the penalty, before his persistence caused problems for Chelsea, and allowed Okafor to tap home into an empty net. He featured in a more advanced role than usual, which paid off, so he could again feature on the right wing this weekend.
Pascal Struijk was ruled out midweek, allowing Jaka Bijol to return to the starting eleven, but he conceded a soft penalty. Anton Stach and Dominic Calvert-Lewin were further injury concerns, meaning Ao Tanaka could return to midfield, and Noah Okafor could lead the line.
Birmingham look set to go with their strongest eleven here, with Marvin Duksch to start up front, and Jay Stansfield playing off him. Ibrahim Osman has been a key player on the left wing since completing a loan move from Auxerre in January, and Patrick Roberts looks set to start on the opposite flank.
