Bodo/Glimt v Brann
Kick Off: Saturday 21st June at 17:00
Competition: Norwegian Eliteserien
This is a big clash between the top two teams in the division last season
Bodo/Glimt have won three of their four home games so far this campaign
The last 8eighthead-to-head meetings have all gone over 2.5 goals
Brann have only kept one clean sheet in 11 Eliteserien games this season.
Kasper Hogh has been in great form, scoring seven goals in eight Eliteserien matches
The Norwegian Eliteserien resumes after its three-week late spring break with a crunch clash between the top two finishers from 2024. Both Bodo/Glimt and Brann are right up there in the table again, but there are other challengers this seaso,n which makes the result of this match even more important than ever.
Bodo/Glimt are known for having a very strong home record and are the clear 1.44 favourites to win. Over 2.5 goals is priced exactly the same and will be popular based on past meetings between the two sides. Both teams to score yes, is slightly bigger at 1.50.
⭐ Bodo/Glimt v Brann Predictions and Best Bets
Bodo Glimt should come out of the three-week break with renewed freshness and intent. They know that this is their time to shine until the Champions League qualifying starts towards the end of August. They have plenty of games in hand, and this could be the period where they put together their best domestic form of the season. Kjetil Knutsen’s men can usually be relied upon at home, where they’ve only lost twice in the last year and a half in domestic games. Backing Bodo to win at 1.44 looks like a solid bet.
Over 2.5 goals also looks like an excellent bet at 1.44. Goals have generally flowed in Brann games this season, with nine of their 11 contests going over 2.5. One of the greatest contributors towards this has been a porous defence, which has kept a solitary clean sheet. All of the last seven Bodo/Glimt Eliteserien matches have gone over 2.5 goals, so there is enough evidence on both sides to support this bet. We could be in for a total shootout, and recent head-to-head meetings also point towards overs with the last seven all going over 2.5.
Bodo/Glimt’s top striker Kasper Hogh has been in brilliant form this season, scoring seven goals in eight Eliteserien matches. Despite their recent inconsistencies, Hogh has still been banging in the goals, netting in three of his last four league games. He recently weighed in with another goal during a friendly match v AIK. He is a very confident player right now and a proven goalscorer. 2.10 looks like a massive price for him to score anytime in a match where a lot of goals are expected.
🟡 Late Spring Break Came at a Good Time for Bodo/Glimt
A combination of their extensive Europa League run, cup matches and league campaign was starting to catch up with them.
Glimt are 5th in the Eliteserien table but have only played eight games, which is far fewer than any other team. Should they win their games in hand, then they would be in a net second place. They have, however, lost two of their last four games, with defeats against Tromso and Viking. Their most recent match was a 4-0 victory against Haugesund.
🔵 Leaky Backline Holding Brann Back
After an opening day defeat against Fredrikstad, Brann won five consecutive Eliteserien matches. However, they’ve started to drop some needless points and now only won two of their last five fixtures. Recent home draws against Rosenborg and Sarpsborg, plus a defeat to Molde (3-0), have not been ideal.
One of the biggest problems Brann have had this season is keeping clean sheets. They’ve only managed to achieve it in one of their 11 league fixtures. Their attack force ranks as the 2nd-best in the league, but no other team in the top half of the table has conceded more goals.
📊 Bodo/Glimt v Brann Head-to-Head Key Stats
There is a long history of goals in this fixture with the last 8 consecutive meetings all going over 2.5 goals and the last seven H2Hs both teams to score yes.
Last season, Bodo Glimt won this affair at Aspmyra Stadion 5-1, although Brann were down to ten men very early in that contest. Brann beat Glimt 4-1 in the reverse fixture.
The last six meetings have been evenly split, with two wins each and two draws.
