With an in-depth knowledge of the region & teams I have been involved in a specialist podcast & more for close to a decade. My favourite types of bets are attacking the goal lines and identifying the tactics & style of each team & manager who can contribute positively. Outside of betting I was once a Sunday League goalkeeper myself. But my boots are now retired and instead prefer to hit up the cricket pitch and golf course in my spare time.

Bodo/Glimt to Win Both Halves

Bodo Glimt are priced at just 1.10 to win this game, and the handicap on Kjetil Knutsen’s men is between -2 and -3. Once again, we need to get slightly creative when backing Glimt so taking the hosts in the win both halves market looks wise. Bodo Glimt have been an exceptional first-half team this season, so the 1.83 on offer looks a perfectly good bet.

Glimt have incredibly led in 11 out of 15 games at half time this season in the Eliteserien, so it’s likely if they win the game, they can complete this double. This was completed at the weekend when they saw off Valerenga 7-2, leading 2-1 at half time.

Over 3.5 Goals

There will likely be a glut of goals in this match. Bodo Glimt have netted 39 times in 15 games, which is a huge average. They just beat Valerenga 7-2 and now face one of the worst teams in the league. Glimt alone could cover the over 3.5 line all on their own, but they will likely score even more.

Stromsgodset have lost ten straight games but have improved their own firepower recently, scoring five times in three games. They might be able to contribute, but their terrible defensive record and average xGA of 1.93 in each game is very worrying heading into this contest. For me, over 3.5 goals at 1.44 looks like a sensible play.

Kasper Hogh to Score Anytime

Bodo Glimt’s top striker, Kasper Hogh, has been in brilliant form this season, scoring 11 goals in 15 Eliteserien matches. It is like a revolving record and a usual weekly bet, but he is once again the go-to man for a goalscorer bet in the game. Hogh has now scored in three of his last four Eliteserien games, including the last two.

The hitman was on target against Valerenga at the weekend, and he is probably due a two or three-goal haul soon. He’s been getting into some great positions this season, and although his odds to score have dropped to 1.57, this is justifiable against such terrible opponents who concede a barrage of goals.

  • Bodo Glimt have the best xG and xGA metrics in the Eliteserien.

  • The defending champions have now won four games in a row and are hunting down top spot.

  • Stromsgodset have lost ten games in a row and are firmly rooted inside the relegation zone.

  • The visitors have an average xGA per game of 1.93, which is one of their biggest issues this season.

Bodo Glimt look like they mean business again after winning four consecutive matches. They beat title rivals Viking 4-2 and then claimed a huge 7-2 victory vs Valerenga at the weekend. Glimt are clear 1.10 favourites to beat a dire Stromsgodset side who have lost a terrible ten consecutive games. The away side are a huge 14/1 to win this match.

🟡 Glimt Starting to Fire on All Cylinders

Bodo Glimt are up to 2nd in the Eliteserien table and have won four consecutive games. Their victory away to title rivals Viking a couple of weeks ago, 4-2, was a massive result for the club and puts their title credentials back in their own hands. Glimt followed it up with a 7-2 success against Valerenga, so they are properly firing.

Glimt have dropped silly points at times this year, but the underlying metrics have them as clearly the best team. They have the best average xG per game (2.13) and by far the best GA (0.98).

🔵 Ten Defeats in a Row for Stromsgodset

Stromsgodset just keep losing. It’s now ten defeats in a row, and they remain second bottom of the Eliteserien table with relegation likely. New manager Dag Eilev Fagermo has yet to obtain a point in his 5 games in charge, although at least they’ve been scoring more goals.

Recent 2-3 defeats vs Tromso and Fredrikstad have offered some hope, but their terrible defence is a continued achilles heel. Godset have conceded a huge 36 goals in 15 games, and their average xGA per game of 1.93 demonstrates how poor they’ve been.

📊 Bodo/Glimt v Stromsgodset H2H

Bodo Glimt won both league meetings 1-0 last season, although there is now a different manager in charge of Stormsgodset.

This fixture has generally been lean pickings for Stromsgodset with just 1 win in the last 14 H2Hs, which came in the 2023 season. They haven’t won here at the Aspmyra Stadion for exactly ten years.
