With an in-depth knowledge of the region & teams I have been involved in a specialist podcast & more for close to a decade. My favourite types of bets are attacking the goal lines and identifying the tactics & style of each team & manager who can contribute positively. RB Salzburg to Win

RB Salzburg don’t have to win the second leg, but such was their level of superiority in Norway that they should have easily enough to beat Brann at home. Despite suffering an early blow by conceding and trailing at half-time, the Austrian outfit fired back impressively in the second half. They were superior both in terms of the eye test and also in every relevant metric.

Brann were quite simply outplayed, 2.32 to 0.42 on xG and a huge 22 shots to 8. RB Salzburg are 1.40 to win here, and they should have enough against a Brann side who realistically know they are knocked out of this round. Even with some rotation then the superior quality and class should show again.

Over 2.5 Goals

Based on what we saw in the first leg, then goals should again flow here in Salzburg. If Brann are to have any chance of turning this around, then they need to score a minimum of three goals, so at some stage they will have to open up and attack.

That doesn’t bode well against an opponent who tore them apart last week under normal circumstances. Over 2.5 goals should cover again at 1.40 with the hosts capable of getting three goals on their own, even if Brann can’t contribute.

Dorgeles Nene to Score Anytime

The Salzburg XI might be difficult to predict, but at this stage of the season, then key men are likely to be on the field to get up to speed this season. Brazilian attacker Dorgeles Nene looks a big price to score anytime here at 2.30.

He hit the back of the net last week and bagged 13 goals last season for RB Salzburg in what was a breakthrough campaign. His trickery and skill was apparent at the Club World Cup and he likes to shoot. Nene looks the best value and most overpriced home player in this market.

  • RB Salzburg comfortably won the first leg 4-1

  • The Austrian side dominated the match with 22 shots to 8 and an xG of 2.32

  • Brann only have the 9th best away record in the Eliteserien this season

Brann took an early lead, but RB Salzburg fired back with a brilliant 2nd half to comfortably win the 1st leg 4-1. The tie looks over, and there was night and day between the two teams. RB Salzburg are priced at 1.40 to beat the Norwegian side again

Strong Summer for RB Salzburg

RB Salzburg won the first leg 4-1, so they are in a comfortable position. The Austrian League season has not yet started, but at the weekend, they had domestic cup success by beating Dietach 4-0.

All of RB Salzburg’s Club World Cup games had an xG of over 2, and every game contained at least nine corners. Their fixtures tended to be quite open, even the 0-0 vs Al Hilal, in which a lot of chances were wasted.

🔴 Brann Suffered in the First Leg

Brann lost the first leg 1-4 and are seemingly facing a herculean task to turn around the deficit. They didn’t have a league fixture at the weekend, so they have had a full week to prepare for the second leg. Brann only have the 9th best away record in the Eliteserien with three wins, one draw, and three defeats.

Brann have been a constant goal threat, averaging 1.78 xG per game in the Eliteserien this season. They have the second-best average xGA per match domestically, but have only kept three clean sheets. Brann recently sold key striker Aune Heggebo to West Ham for around £5m.

📊 RB Salzburg v Brann H2H

The only previous competitive meeting was last week when RB Salzburg comfortably won 4-1 despite trailing 0-1 for nearly an hour. They won the xG battle 2.32 to 0.41 and outshot Brann 22 to eight with ten shots on target. RB Salzburg also won the corner count seven to one in that contest.
