A positive couple of results for Leeds has lifted them out of the relegation zone for now, and they travel to the Gtech Community Stadium on Sunday afternoon hoping to continue building momentum. Given that Brentford have lost successive matches coming into this clash, Daniel Farke’s men have every reason to be confident.

📈 Brentford v Leeds Form & Tactics

Following a run of four successive defeats, Daniel Farke’s role as manager was under serious threat with Leeds languishing in the relegation zone. However, his side have bounced back strongly, and pulled off some impressive results in recent weeks. The Peacocks beat Chelsea 3-1 at Elland Road, putting in a clinical performance on the counter. Despite seeing just 29% possession, Leeds registered 17 shots and two big chances worth 2.79 xG. They again scored three goals on home turf, this time against Liverpool, as Ao Tanaka equalised in stoppage time to secure a point for his side. Leeds are just two points above the relegation zone, but they have performed well in recent weeks and will hope to increase that gap.

After losing 2-0 against Arsenal, Keith Andrews reverted to a more familiar 4-2-3-1 shape against Spurs last time out, but there was no change in the scoreline. The Bees offered very little going forward, managing just four shots worth 0.29 xG, which was a bitterly disappointing performance.

Despite a decent start to the season, Brentford have stuttered in recent weeks, and have dropped dangerously close to the bottom three - they still have a six point gap over West Ham, but will hope for results to pick up.

📔 Brentford v Leeds Formation & Team News

Daniel Farke has made a tactical tweak in recent weeks, shifting to a back three with Joe Rodon, Struijk and Jaka Bijol which has brought about an improvement in results. Because of that, Leeds should persist with a similar shape, with Gabriel Gudmundsson and Jayden Bogle providing width from wingback positions. Dominic Calvert-Lewin has scored in three straight matches coming into this clash, so is likely to feature alongside Lukas Nmecha once more. As Sean Longstaff continues his recovery from a calf injury, Ilia Gruev should retain his starting spot in midfield.

Kevin Schade’s yellow card against Spurs last time out was his fifth of the season, meaning the German international is suspended for this clash. Keane Lewis-Potter will hope to replace him on the left wing to make his first Premier League start since September. Kristoffer Ajer lasted just 45 minutes last weekend before being replaced by Rico Henry, and the Jamaican international is a candidate to start against Leeds.
