📈 Leeds v Brentford Form & Tactics

Brentford were held to a 2-2 draw by Wolves last time out, making it one win in their last five Premier League matches. The Bees were in contention for a European finish prior to that run, but they now find themselves three points behind Chelsea and four behind Liverpool.

After losing seven of their opening eight away games in the league this season, Brentford have made significant improvements in recent weeks, but their home form has taken a hit. The Bees have failed to win any of their last four matches at the Gtech Stadium, dropping points against the likes of Wolves, Nottingham Forest, and Brighton, who have all struggled in recent weeks.

Leeds also haven’t been too impressive on home turf recently, and they have lost back-to-back games by a 1-0 scoreline. Against Sunderland last time out, Leeds were wasteful in the final third, and they failed to score with any of their 18 shots. Sunderland managed just three shots in return, and one of those was from the penalty spot. It was a similar story against Man City before that - Leeds were punished for their lack of ruthlessness in the final third, as they racked up 1.49 xG and 14 shots to no avail.

📔 Leeds v Brentford Formation & Team News

Daniel Farke has a minimal injury list to deal with at the moment, and Noah Okafor should be nearing a return. The Leeds manager opted to start both Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha in a partnership against Crystal Palace, but he might revert to a more conventional lineup here, going back to a 3-4-3 formation. Jaka Bijol, Joe Rodon, and Struijk should continue as the back three, while Ilia Gruev should return to partner Ethan Ampadu in midfield.

Aaron Hickey and Rico Henry remain out with injuries, so Keane-Lewis Potter looks set to continue at left back, especially after he provided an assist for Michael Kayode against Wolves. Yehor Yarmolyuk will be ready for a recall to the starting eleven alongside Jordan Henderson this weekend, with Jensen pushed into a more advanced role. Igor Thiago should lead the line, with Schade and Ouattara hoping to provide for the Brazilian from wide positions.
