📈 Burnley v Fulham Form & Tactics

Fulham were dealt defeat at Craven Cottage last time out, as a late Marc Guehi header condemned them to a 2-1 loss. It was another painful loss for the Cottagers to take, as they were narrowly edged out by Man City prior to their loss against Crystal Palace. Despite trailing 5-1 in that game before the hour mark, Fulham fought back courageously and made it 5-4 going into the final 10 minutes thanks to a Samuel Chukwueze brace. The Cottagers were just unable to breach the Man City defences one more time, despite a late onslaught, as Josko Gvardiol made a clearance off the line to deny Josh King in the dying embers.

Burnley also suffered a 2-1 loss at the weekend, but their situation is looking a lot more worrying. While the Clarets were massively hindered by a first half red card to Lucas Pires, they caused very few problems for the hosts at St James' Park, which has been a trend all season. Excluding the 94th-minute penalty, which proved only to be a consolation goal, Burnley registered just eight shots. With just 12.0 xG generated from their 15 league matches, Scott Parker’s men rank dead last in the table for that metric, highlighting their struggles in the final third.

📔 Burnley v Fulham Formation & Team News

After scoring his fifth Premier League goal of the season off the bench, Zian Flemming will hope to reclaim his starting spot up front in place of Armando Broja, who made his first Premier League start of the season. Another former Chelsea man, Ugochukwu, found his way back into the starting XI after watching on from the bench in recent games, featuring alongside Florentino Luis and Josh Cullen.

Alex Iwobi has featured alongside Sander Berge in a deeper midfield role in recent weeks, with Sasa Lukic dropping to the bench. Ryan Sessegnon missed out last weekend due to a hamstring injury, meaning Timothy Castagne could again play at left back as Antonee Robinson continues his recovery. Samuel Chukwueze has looked sharp on the left in recent games, and will look to provide for Raul Jimenez upfront.

📊 Burnley v Fulham Key Stats

  • Fulham have failed to win 7 of their 8 away matches this season.

  • Burnley have lost 6 straight matches heading into this clash.

  • Burnley have been shown 2+ cards in 5 of their last 6 matches

  • Fulham have seen 9+ corners in each of their last 7 games in all competitions.

  • Burnley have conceded 5+ corners in 12 of their last 14 matches.
