📂 Copenhagen v Napoli Cheat Sheet
📈 Copenhagen v Napoli Form & Tactics
After kicking off their Champions League campaign with an action-packed 2-2 draw at home to Bayer Leverkusen, FC Copenhagen came away empty-handed from each of their next three matches. At that point, the Danish giants appeared to be heading for an early exit from the competition. However, a 3-2 win over Kairat Almaty, followed by a 3-2 victory against Villarreal, has lifted the Danish side into the top-24.
Copenhagen have been involved in a number of goal-heavy games in this season's Champions League, with 5 of their 6 league-phase fixtures producing over 3.5 goals.
Having had no domestic fixtures since mid-December, Jacob Neestrup's side could be a little rusty coming into this clash. Copenhagen have lost three of their last four Danish Superliga matches, leaving them 12 points behind league leaders AGF at the winter break.
Napoli have struggled to make an impact on their return to the Champions League, collecting just seven points from a possible 18 across their opening six league-phase matches. Antonio Conte's side have really struggled on the road, losing all three of their away fixtures so far, including a heavy 6-2 defeat to PSV. As a result, Napoli will almost certainly need to pick up points from their final two matches against Copenhagen and Chelsea.
On the domestic front, Napoli snapped a three-game run of draws in Serie A by grinding out a narrow 1-0 win over Sassuolo on Saturday. The result leaves the Blues sitting in 3rd position in the Italian top-flight, six points adrift of league-leaders Inter Milan.
Napoli have been reduced to 10 men in two of their three Champions League away games this season, while they also received a red card in a recent road win at Lazio in Serie A.
📔 Copenhagen v Napoli Formation & Team News
Jacob Neestrup has experimented with different formations this season, but in recent months, he has typically set his side up in a 4-2-3-1.
The hosts will be without the injured duo of Magnus Mattsson and Rodrigo Huescas, while new signing Kenay Myrie will only become eligible if Copenhagen advance past the league phase.
Napoli boss Antonio Conte is well-known for deploying a 3-4-2-1 formation. Danish striker Rasmus Hojlund is expected to lead the line on his return to his homeland on Tuesday night.
The visitors are currently hampered by a lengthy injury list, with Amir Rrahmani and Matteo Politano the latest additions to the treatment room after being forced off during Saturday's 1-0 win over Sassuolo. They join Alex Meret, Andre Anguissa, Billy Gilmour, Kevin De Bruyne, and Romelu Lukaku on the sidelines.
