He won last season’s race with subsequent Epsom Derby hero, City Of Troy, and has outstanding claims this term with THE LION IN WINTER. The two-year-old son of Sea The Stars – a €375,000 yearling – impressed with a facile Curragh maiden win before scoring in a York Group Three event, ahead of a brace of subsequent Group winners. He has a middle-distance pedigree but showed good pace that day, suggesting he has more than just a touch of class.

ANCIENT TRUTH must be high on the shortlist. The Godolphin-owned unbeaten son of Dubawi, won the G2 Superlative Stakes, just like his sire did, which bodes well for his future endeavours. He was outpaced at the halfway stage of that 7f contest but showed a willing attitude to keep on strongly at the finishing line.
Stablemate, Shadow Of Light, is likely to prove popular after his Group One rout on soft ground but has to prove himself over an extra furlong.
