Rangers dropped points in the Scottish top-flight for the first time under Danny Rohl’s guidance when drawing 0-0 at home to Falkirk on Sunday.

That stalemate has seen Rangers drop down to 4th place in the standings, nine points adrift of league leaders Hearts. As for 8th-placed Dundee United, they are now without a win in four matches following Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Kilmarnock.

📈 Dundee United v Rangers Form & Stats

Dundee United failed to win a Scottish Premiership game during the month of November, posting two draws and two defeats. Interestingly, Dundee United have done the majority of their best work on their travels this term, amassing eight of their 15 points away from Tannadice.

To date, Dundee United have not been able to replicate the strong defensive showings that served them so well last season, with the Terrors conceding at least once in 11 of their opening 13 matches of the campaign, including five of their six outings in front of their own supporters.

Dundee United have drawn six of their 13 Scottish Premiership matches this season, with three of those stalemates ending 1-1. Slow starts have been a running theme for Dundee United this season, with Goodwin’s side conceding the opening goal of the game in nine of their 13 Scottish Premiership matches this term.

Sunday’s 0-0 draw with Falkirk was a stark reminder for Danny Rohl of the mammoth task he is facing in trying to revive Rangers’ fortunes. The Light Blues were toothless going forward and completely void of ideas for long periods of the game, with Falkirk looking the more likely victors in the latter stages of Sunday’s stalemate at Ibrox.

The result means Rangers have now drawn a joint league-high seven of their Scottish Premiership matches this season, with six of those all square affairs ending either 0-0 or 1-1, with the only exception being a 2-2 draw with Dundee United.

Ill-discipline has cost Rangers on a number of occasions this season, with the Scottish heavyweights racking up five red cards across all competitions this term. However, it is worth noting that Rangers have received one card or fewer in three of their five Scottish Premiership outings under Rohl.

📔 Dundee United v Rangers Formation & Team News

Jim Goodwin has made use of different variations of a back-three in recent weeks, opting for a 3-5-2 system during Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Kilmarnock. The Dundee United boss could stick with the same starting XI that came from behind to claim a 1-1 draw at Rugby Park last time out.

The hosts are starting to look stronger with their injury issues easing, with midfielder Isaac Pappoe the only player currently in the Tannadice treatment room.

Danny Rohl has utilised a variety of formations since taking the reins at Rangers, though he has stuck with a 4-2-3-1 in each of his side’s last three matches. While the Gers boss may go with the same system again on Wednesday night, changes to the starting XI are anticipated, with Danilo and Djeidi Gassama among those pushing for a recall.

As was the case at the weekend, Rangers again look set to be without injury victims Bailey Rice, Derek Cornelius, John Souttar, Kieran Dowell, Mikey Moore and Rabbi Matondo.

On a brighter note, Dujon Sterling was fit enough to be included in the matchday squad for the first time this season against Falkirk last time out.
