Edinburgh City will play host to Partick Thistle in the Scottish League Cup on Friday night.
The two teams have been housed in Group B alongside Queen of the South, Ross County, and Stranraer.
With two divisions separating the sides, Partick Thistle are understandably 1.57 favourites to hit the ground running on Friday night. As for the Over/Under 2.5 goals line, the odds suggest that an entertaining cup tie could be on the cards, with overs favoured at 1.85.
⭐ Edinburgh City v Partick Thistle Bet Builder Quick Tips
Edinburgh aren't likely to sacrifice the attacking principles that saw them make a surprise push for promotion last season. Having scored in 14 of their 18 league games at home last term, Michael McIndoe’s men look overpriced to strike here at 1.2.
Both teams scored during Partick Thistle’s pre-season friendly fixtures with Inverness and Glenafton, and a repeat on Friday night looks well worthy of support at 1.8
As for choosing between Over 2.5 Goals or Under 2.5 Goals, overs has to be favoured given that both teams like to play on the front foot.
⚪ Edinburgh Awkward Opponents
Edinburgh City showed that they're no mugs during their recent friendly win away from home at Scottish Premiership outfit Falkirk, where they claimed a 3-2 victory. That win was made all the more impressive by the fact that they raced into a three-goal lead at half-time. Tiwi Daramola bagged a brace against Falkirk and will likely be Edinburgh’s danger man again on Friday night.
Edinburgh ended last season with a strong home record, losing just one of their final eight matches of the campaign at their Meadowbank base, triumphing in six of those contests.
🟠 Thistle Amongst Group B Favourites
Partick Thistle will be expected to push fellow Scottish Championship outfit Ross County all the way in the fight to finish first in Group B.
The Jags have appointed Mark Wilson as their permanent manager following his stint as joint interim boss alongside Brian Graham during the final three months of last season.
The aforementioned Graham has since departed the club, and his exit leaves Thistle with a huge hole to fill in their front line. New arrival Tony Watt will spearhead Partick’s attack this season, but replacing Graham’s goals and influence will be incredibly difficult.
