Telstar v ADO Den Haag
🏟
Friday 11th November – 7:00PM KO
Manager Dirk Kuyt could be sacked after this game. After a reasonable spell with a couple of victories that got them away from the bottom of the table positions, they went on to lose the last two games. Sitting in 17th place, it is a surprise they still keep him on. Kuyt has made a lot of beginner errors in this league, but he has also been a bit unlucky, as the side often dictates the game. However, he never managed to make the defence airtight, so you can almost be certain they’ll concede. In fact, they conceded in 12 out of 14 Eerste Divisie matches this season.
Striker Thomas Verheydt, who scored five goals this season, isn’t at his usual level yet, but he is a decent quality striker at this level and he does always generate chaos in the opposite box, so they get their fair share of chances. They have scored in each of the past ten matches, but with that defence that hasn’t really been enough to win games.
Telstar doesn’t have such a good goal scoring record, but recently they have also upped their game. Striker David Min is always a threat to the opposing defence and with his pace he should be looking forward to this game against ADO Den Haag. I’d make Telstar the favourites for this game, but more than that, this game seems like a recipe for goals.

De Graafschap v Jong PSV
🏟
Friday 11th November – 7:00PM KO
De Graafschap have been struggling since the start of the season. The side from Doetinchem won their last two home games, but neither of those victories came easy. In this match against Jong PSV they might struggle to get the full three points.
Jong PSV have improved substantially over the past weeks and that has mostly got to do with the return of first team players after injuries. Johan Bakayoko had a shot at becoming a first team starter at the start of the season, but couldn’t quite make it. Since the return of Noni Madueke, Luuk de Jong and the signing of Anwar El-Ghazi, he is suddenly 4th in line on the wing and that makes him return fully to Jong PSV. As Richard Ledezma and Fode Fofana are also back at Jong PSV, it is especially their attacking strength that improved.
De Graafschap are still struggling to find a bit of rhythm under manager Adrie Poldervaart this season. In front of their home crowd, they should get a boost again, but Jong PSV just seem to be the better side under the current circumstances. The home side might benefit from the game being played on Friday, as some of the fringe players from PSV will have to travel with the first team on Saturday. However, the team that will play this game still seems fairly strong in comparison to earlier in the season, so I’d put my money on a result for the away side.
