Legion v Kuressaare
🏟
Friday 15th October – 5:00PM KO
Legion have started to put up a bit of a fight in recent weeks, as they look to avoid automatic relegation to the Esiliiga, picking up impressive draws against Paide and Levadia, they have shown that even their youthful side can give the big teams a game. Amongst those draws there was a 10-0 defeat vs Paide but 7 players also played the day before for the U21 side.
Kuressaare continue to impress in what is their best ever Premium Liiga season, currently 12 wins on the season and only losing once in their last 10, it shows now, why every team is starting to give them some respect.
A slow start to the season for Kure, in where games seemed more cautious, with 5th place almost guaranteed they are playing with a bit more freedom with games starting to open up a bit more, and it’s showing with Sten Reinkort sitting 3rd in the goalscoring charts with 14, his best ever season.
Legion are managing to find the net, but their youthful side is struggling with converting more chances, mistakes at the back are being punished, with a bit more experience in the team, they might just find themselves higher in the table.
Games between these 2 are usually close with usually just a 1 goal swing to either team, Kure have had the better of Legion this season with 2 wins and a draw. Perhaps at the start of the season this is a game you’d avoid if you wanted to see goals, but as recent months have shown us – Kure are on a rampage with records in sight and Legion are fighting for Premium Liiga survival, Sten Reinkort and Mattias Mannilaan are going to be a constant threat for the Legion defence, but Legion are not going to roll over quietly.

Paide v Tallinna Kalev
🏟
Saturday 15th October – 12:30PM KO
Paide have started to develop a bit of a reputation of bottling, but just one defeat in their last 10 has seen them leapfrog Nõmme Kalju and occupy the last European place. With just 5 games to play, Paide have a difficult run in, but starting up against Tallinna Kalev can give them that confidence heading into the tough run in.
Despite sitting in 8th place Kalev’s form is not too bad, 4 wins in their last 10 has all but guaranteed their place in the Premium Liiga next season, the main problem which has remained the case all season is keeping the goals out, conceding 86 goals across the season, with 5 games left to play there is every chance they will concede 100.
A game that should be end to end action, both sides provide a threat when on the counter and both sides are prone to sloppy defending. Paide have scored in 9 out of their last 10 games, whilst Kalev have scored in 7 out of 10. Paide have conceded the most goals out of the top 4, it’s something that Kalev may look to exploit.
Paide love playing Kalev, in the 3 games against them this season, Paide have scored an incredible 17 goals, conceding just 2. A game that promises goals, Paide lost some players in the transfer market from when they last played Kalev but it should still be a comfortable victory.
Kalev will look to hold off the Paide attack for as long as possible, but themselves will be a threat when on the counter and set pieces, Paide have looked shaky defensively all season, something that Kalev are fully aware of. Goals, goals, goals, but how many?

Pärnu v Narva
🏟
Saturday 15th October – 5:30PM KO
Narva recently ended a run of 2 straight defeats with a convincing 2-0 win against Tallinna Kalev. Narva would have been happy to see Ukrainian striker Volodymyr Pryiomov end his 5-game goalless drought, with his goal securing the victory. Narva also faced Kalev during the week in the Estonian Cup, which saw a 10 man Narva score a 97th minute winner to advance to the quarter finals. Narva, normally look a decent side when coming up against beneath them in the table, so will be looking to extend their winning streak against bottom of the table Pärnu.
Pärnu are a disaster, although not mathematically down, it would take a real miracle to see them survive. Having not picked up any points since 2nd July in a 1-1 draw with Tammeka, and not winning a game since 6thMay, the club from the summer capital find themselves on a run of 13 straight defeats, including 2 against their opponents this week. Pärnu last week literally handed the league title to Flora Tallinn in a 7-1 defeat, which also gave Pärnu the worst defensive record in the league.
Narva will be without defender Denis Taraduda who was sent off in Narva’s cup victory, whilst midfielder Cem Felek had his contract terminated after only 7 matches, with some citing ‘ego problems’ as one of the reasons. Pärnu will have a full squad to choose from, although that shouldn’t matter too much.
With confidence low in the Pärnu camp, this should be a routine victory for Narva. This will be the final time that these 2 will meet, until at least 2024, with Narva winning all 3 encounters so far and will be expecting to make it a 100% record.
