Undoubtedly the best player in the Premier League this season, Mo Salah has been in incredible form to fire Liverpool to the summit of the division. His 31 goal contributions have him well-placed to break plenty of records and he’s currently averaging 2.09 shots on target per 90. In his last 5 Premier League appearances, he’s hit the target 13 times, landing this bet in 4 of those games and scoring 5 times too.

Opponents Brentford concede the second most shots on target in the league at 6.1 per game. Against a similar level of opponent in Man City midweek, they allowed 8 efforts on goal and right winger Phil Foden scored twice, so Salah will get chances. In Salah’s last 4 games against The Bees, he’s netted 5 goals and averaged 2.04 shots on target per 90, so we just need more of the same from the Egyptian.

So long as James Justin keeps getting priced this well, he’ll be a staple part of this column. His average of 0.93 shots per 90 this season only tells half the story as since Ruud van Nistelrooy took over, he’s been given much more attacking freedom. This has resulted in him hammering in 10 efforts at goal at an average of 1.36 per 90. He got his reward for this attacking role in the FA Cup with 2 goals against QPR last weekend and so he should be high on confidence.

Fulham are only conceding 11.9 shots per game on the road which is a very respectable record, however, 6 goals conceded in their last 3 trips away from Craven Cottage might suggest that they’re starting to feel the effects of such a strong start to the season. Leicester are desperate for points to maintain their fight against the drop and with Justin in such good form for shots, he can grab another here.

At the other end of the pitch, Antonee Robinson has had a positional change in recent weeks which has seen Fulham move to a back 3. This has meant that he’s had a more attacking wing-back role and has even been pushed up to the left wing on occasion. In particular, in away games he’s been happy to pull the trigger, managing at least 1 shot in 5 of his last 6 starts. That includes having had a shot at both Chelsea and Tottenham, so a trip to Leicester will hold no fear.

Leicester are the third most leaky side in the Premier League on home soil, allowing their opponents 16.6 shots per game. Since their managerial change, they’ve given up big-shot totals at the King Power including 16 from Brighton and 31 from West Ham. Across Van Nistelrooy’s tenure, the last 7 left-sided defenders to face The Foxes have combined for 8 shots and so it’s clearly an area of the pitch that Marco Silva can target in the form of Robinson.

Graham Potter’s opening Premier League game as Hammers boss saw a much more possession-based approach and a 3-2 win over Fulham. Crystal Palace are conceding 4.05 shots on target per game in the Premier League and in their last 3 games on the road in all competitions have allowed their opponents 18 efforts on goal. Their data is not the strongest for this selection but positional changes under new managers is one of the biggest weapons we have against the bookies when picking out props selections and at the price, Paqueta has to be backed.

With Bukayo Saka out injured, the responsibility is on Martin Odegaard to provide goals from Arsenal’s midfield. Sine returning from injury, the Norwegian has started 13 games in all competitions and has had at least 2 shots in 8 of those, averaging 1.9 per 90. He also takes some free kicks and despite his miss against Man Utd, should still be on penalties with Saka missing.

Aston Villa don’t concede many shots, giving up just 11.6 per game, however, if we just focus on their away games, that average rises to 14.9. They’ve lost their last 5 in a row away from Villa Park in the Premier League and have conceded a whopping 86 shots across those matches – an average of 17.2 per game. Those games have come against strong sides but Arsenal are absolutely in that bracket and with Odegaard having had 3 shots in this fixture last season, he looks a nice price for 2.
