Graham Potter continues to set-up West Ham in a system that utilises wing-backs, one of whom is Emerson Palmieri. The Italian has enjoyed more attacking freedom under his new boss and this has resulted in him having 4 efforts at goal in his last 3 Premier League appearances with at least 1 in each of those.

Arsenal will be tough opponents as they are in excellent form looking to chase down Liverpool in the race for the Premier League title. They’re conceding less shots at home than any other side in the division, however, they will remember West Ham’s 2-0 victory at the Emirates last season and be wary.

Emerson had 2 of the Hammers’ 12 shots in the reverse fixture and got on the scoresheet from a free-kick and so if West Ham are restricted to shots from range, he’ll be happy to pull the trigger.

Wolves forward Matheus Cunha is one of the most in-form players in the top division. His goal at Anfield last weekend was his third in consecutive games and his 12th goal in the Premier League this season. Those goals have come from an average of 1.37 shots on target per 90 and he’s had 2 or more in 6 of his last 10 games in all competitions.

In this fixture last season, Cunha had 4 shots on target, scoring from one of them and he’ll be hoping to carry on his excellent form against a Bournemouth side who give up 12.3 shots per game at home. They’re also allowing their opponents 4.92 shots on target per game and so there should be opportunities for Cunha to maintain his hot streak.

A staple of this column all season, Dara O’Shea’s average of 0.6 shots per 90 minutes is evidence enough of his threat from set pieces. At Portman Road, he’s landed this bet in 7 of 11 starts and he also had a shot in the reverse fixture which Ipswich won 2-1.

Tottenham continue to have issues at centre back with Micky Van de Ven apparently being coached a new running style to help combat his injury issues and so new signing Kevin Danso is being partnered by either Archie Gray or Ben Davies, both of whom lack height. Across their last 6 matches in all competitions, they’ve allowed opposition centre backs 7 efforts at goal and with O’Shea the Tractor Boys biggest set piece threat, he can expect another chance in this one.

A shining light in Spurs’ desperate season, Djed Spence is being talked up for an England call-up from Thomas Tuchel as his form has been so good. The full back has been enjoying life at left back, cutting in on his preferred right foot and shooting regularly with a shot in each of his last 5 domestic starts. That spell includes shots against Liverpool and Aston Villa and so he should fancy his chances against Ipswich.

Kieran McKenna’s men are conceding 14.1 shots per game on home soil, the 5th worst record in the Premier League. They’ve give up 37 shots across their last 3 games at Portman Road, conceding 10 goals in the process and so Spurs and Spence can be confident they’ll get plenty of joy going forwards as they look for revenge.

Having been deployed as one of Southampton’s front 2 against Bournemouth, Kamaldeen Sulemana got on the scoresheet with 1 of his 5 shots at goal in an all action display. The Ghanian will likely start up front again and having averaged 2.81 shots per 90 across his limited minutes, will be keen to impress again to nail down a starting spot for the league’s worst side.

Brighton will provide stiff opposition, however, the Seagulls’ struggles against the weaker teams in the division this season will be cause for optimism for Southampton. They’re giving up 12.8 shots per game on their travels and allowed Saints 10 shots in the reverse fixture in which they limped to a 1-1 draw. In that game, both Adam Armstrong and Cameron Archer had 2 shots when playing as strikers and so Sulemana looks a lovely price to keep firing in the shots.
