Having taken nine points from the last 12 available, Everton find themselves on a good run of form, which has propelled them into the top half of the table. The Toffees have been a bit inconsistent at times though, with a 4-1 defeat against Newcastle last weekend which came out of the blue, especially after pulling off a miraculous win against Man United with 10 men.

However, David Moyes’ men have played with a lot more attacking confidence this season, which is reflected in their goal-scoring record - Everton have scored in each of their last five matches leading up to this clash.

Over 1.5 goals has landed in five consecutive games at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, and that trend looks set to continue against Forest, who have seen over 1.5 land in all six of their away matches this season in the Premier League.

Jack Grealish was the hero against Bournemouth midweek, as his goal in the 78th minute secured the spoils for his side. With two goals and four assists under his belt after 15 appearances for Everton this season, the 30-year-old has been in impressive form on the left wing. In addition to his playmaking, Grealish has been a tough player to contain for opposing defenders.

He was fouled three times against the Cherries, meaning Grealish has been fouled more times than any other player in the English top flight this season, and by some distance too. The Englishman has been fouled 40 times after 12 games - the next highest is Elliot Anderson, with 29 fouls drawn.

Nicolo Savona will have the tough task of trying to contain Grealish on Saturday afternoon. The fullback is averaging 1.19 fouls per 90 this season across all competitions, and has committed at least two fouls in four of his six away starts for Forest.

Jake O’Brien was missing from the matchday squad against Bournemouth midweek, which forced James Garner into a makeshift right-back role. After scoring in back-to-back games, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall shifted into a deeper role in midfield alongside Tim Iroegbunam, which allowed Carlos Alcaraz to make just his fifth start of the season.

The Argentine made a key difference, providing the assist for Jack Grealish, while also contributing heavily in the final third. He accounted for three of Everton’s 13 shots on Tuesday night, before being replaced by Dwight McNeil.

Despite his limited minutes, Alcaraz is averaging 2.19 shots per 90 this season in all competitions this season, and has been a real livewire when called upon. He registered two shots against Newcastle in his previous outing at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, despite only featuring in the second half, as the Toffees were beaten 4-1.

With a record of three wins, two draws and two losses at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, results have been difficult to call for Everton, but they have played with an increased intensity in front of a home crowd. That has been reflected in their corner counts, with the Toffees averaging 5.86 corners per game at home, compared to just 2.71 when playing away.

There were 15 corners in their last home outing against Newcastle - despite the 4-1 scoreline, Everton did find some good openings in the final third. David Moyes’ men racked up eight corners, while they also generated 1.3xG.

Prior to that, there were 11 corners in the game against Fulham, and 17 when Tottenham made the trip to Merseyside. Chances have been available at both ends of the field when Everton have played this season, which bodes well for this selection.
