Eberechi Eze to have 1+ Shots on Target 🔄

Eze is ending the season really strongly, he enters this FA Cup final having scored in each of his last four games. He scored a brace against Tottenham last time out and has found the back of the net against Nottingham Forest, Aston Villa and Arsenal in this recent run.

Eze has had 28 shots on target across his 32 Premier League appearances this season, 30 of these have been starts taking his average to 1.00 shots on target per 90. Eze’s shot volume has remained high all season - he’s had 101 shots in the top flight this campaign (3.59 per 90).

Eze scored in Palace’s 5-2 defeat to Manchester City at the Etihad and could have added another if it wasn’t for the offside flag marginally denying him in the first half. He also had two shots against City in the 2-2 draw between the sides back in December.

Eze’s recent goalscoring resurgence can fill him with confidence here and aid his efforts to find the target. He’s scored in the quarter final (v Fulham) and the semi final (v Aston Villa) of the FA Cup so his form has also been strong in this competition as the season comes to an end. Eze has found the target in each of the knockout rounds to reach the final of the FA Cup.

Daniel Munoz to have 1+ Shots 🔄

Munoz has been really effective for Crystal Palace this season, slotting in perfectly as a wingback in Glasner’s 3-4-3 system. He’s registered 12 goal contributions (6 goals, 6 assists) across his 43 appearances in all competitions for the Eagles this season.

Munoz is averaging 1.06 shots per 90 in the Premier League this campaign, which further underlines his tendency to push forward. Munoz scored against City in the 2-2 draw between the sides back in December and was a constant threat in the reverse league fixture.

🔵 Erling Haaland

Erling Haaland to have 2+ Shots on Target 🔄

Haaland had an uncharacteristically low-key return to the City side against Southampton last time out. He played the full 90 minutes but had fewer touches than any other player on the pitch (17) and only mustered one attempt, which was off target.

This is even more surprising considering that City were facing the worst defence in the Premier League. Haaland scored and had two shots on target in the 2-2 draw between the sides back in December, he was injured for the game at the Etihad. Haaland is averaging 2.03 shots on target per 90 in the Premier League this season.

📊 Form & Tactics

Oliver Glasner has been using the 3-4-3 shape all season. Palace have the perfect personnel for this system, especially in the back three and front three, which are incredibly effective for the Eagles.

There isn’t much change in their shape when in or out of possession. Palace like to defend with their front three quite high, it’s not really an active pres,s but it stops Palace from falling into the trap of sitting in a low block.

The midfield two could end up being an area of the pitch that Pep Guardiola looks to target. Wharton and Hughes have been strong for Palace, with Kamada also improving as the season has gone on, but City could outnumber Palace in central areas with Pep playing as many as five midfielders in recent matches.

Pep Guardiola’s shape is a little more complex than Glasner’s. He’s got a real decision to make here with a crucial game against Bournemouth in the race for the Champions League to come after this final, which could see the City boss prioritising the league campaign over this cup competition.

Guardiola’s side lined up in what was basically a 4-2-4 shape in their semi-final against Nottingham Forest. This is unlikely to be the shape that Guardiola goes with here as that aggressive structure was to unlock the Forest's low block, which they managed to do after just two minutes.

City are unbeaten across their last 10 games, while Palace enter the final having avoided defeat in their last five fixtures.
