⚔️ Gameweek 31 Review - 65 Points (34 Average)
Wildcard maximised. Over the last few weeks, many wildcards have been activated but not used to the fullest. Luckily, mine was! I brought Jose Sa (2 points) in against Ipswich, and although he blanked and failed to keep a clean sheet, he was the only one in my defence. Munoz (8 points) couldn’t manage to keep a clean sheet, but redeemed himself by scoring a goal. It won't be long before he does both and bags a monster haul.
Burn (6 points) and Livramento (11 points) made Monday night football exciting with two clean sheets, an assist and two bonus points for good measure: almost a clean sweep from my GK and defenders.
Midfield is usually where the majority of my points come from but with Saka, Salah and Palmer only scoring 4 points between them, it was slim pickings. The inclusion of Rogers (9 points) and the decision to play him paid dividends with a much-deserved goal and 2 bonus points. He was one-on-one for another goal and really should have made it two, but Sels pulled off a fine save; in a week where many managers benched him, I’ll take the small haul.
Up top, Evanilson (13 points) with two goals and two bonus points then Mateta (8 points) adding a goal and two bonus points set the scene for my Monday night captain to round off a bumper week, but it just wasn’t written in the stars. Though Newcastle scored three goals, it was the midfielders that bagged the goals, not the Swedish target man. Overall, a great week in which the overall score was minimal and the green arrows continue to flow.

✅ The Best 3 Transfers IN for Gameweek 32
🇸🇪 Alexander Isak – Newcastle (£9.5m, 59%)
I know he has just blanked, but that’s a very rare occurrence. If you knew Newcastle scored three goals in a match, you would expect Isak to most likely have two goals minimum, so coming away with no returns is just unlucky. With the Champions League race heating up, Newcastle will want to secure their place next season, and that means Isak firing in the upcoming double GW32.
Two home fixtures scream goals, and that was before their recent cup win. Isak has that haul capability that few players have the potential to reach, and if he scores early in the first match against Man United, then he really could get a season-defining score. 60% of managers already have him, and if you don’t own him, I recommend you do. He is a good enough asset to be not only my captain… But my triple captain.
🇪🇬 Mohamed Salah – Liverpool (£13.8m, 71.8%)
Over 5,000 managers (net) have decided they have seen enough from the best player that FPL has ever seen, very knee-jerky. I know he hasn’t scored a goal from open play in six matches and has blanked in the last two, but come on… it's Mo Salah. The stats below speak for themselves, literally an expected goal (xG) each game and the current golden boot leader at 27 goals, six ahead of Erling Haaland. The important piece here is that while other teams like Arsenal, Chelsea and Aston Villa are rotating due to their European adventures, Liverpool don’t have that burden.
They only have one game per week, so they will be fresh and rested for each league game, and even when Salah is at 50%, it's often enough for a big haul. He’s simply just too good to blank three times in a row! Liverpool have put five goals past West Ham in three of the last four meetings between them! Combine these two factors, and you have a recipe for points.

🇧🇷 Joao Pedro – Brighton (£6.3m - 24.8%)
This one is a bit dubious, but one I see going under the radar. Not due to the quality of the player, but the recent gametime he has been afforded. Throughout the season, Pedro has been a difficult pick, but when he comes through, it's always a big haul.
Playing Leicester next is the ideal fixture to rekindle his form, and even 45 minutes against the worst team in the league could be enough to secure a double-digit score. Great fixtures after such as Brentford, West Ham and Wolves also allow you to set up for the medium term or until the end of the season if required; remember flexibility is vital in FPL. With Cunha also returning from injury, the forward line spots are tough to choose, but if you have the same faith as me, a brace and 12+ points could be on the menu.

❌ The Best 3 Transfers OUT for Gameweek 32
🇨🇩 Yoane Wissa - Brentford (£6.6m, 14.2%)
Wissa has been very good to me in the second half of the season, earning me points galore and boosting my rank while at a low ownership and price, but there are just too many better options. Brentford have only scored more than one goal once in the last one matches, and the other forwards have a much higher chance of scoring big points. Marmoush, Isak, Mateta, Evanilson and Pedro are only a few of those available, and many are playing the bottom sides of either Southampton or Leicester.
Wissa will always tick over with a single assist or goal, but I’m in the business of big scores, and there is much more opportunity elsewhere. If you are keeping him, then good luck. I just don’t see the double-digit hauls anytime soon.
🇺🇦 Vitalii Mykolenko – Everton (£4.4m, 6%)
Currently a possible doubt for GW32 after missing the game against Arsenal, but even before this the writing was on the wall for the Everton defender. Not on a personal level, but a team one. In isolation, Mykolenko is a solid player, but Everton, though they keep their games fairly close, have not kept a clean sheet in eight games. A glance downwards at the next upcoming fixtures and I’m sure you agree with me that the case could well be no clean sheets in 11 matches.
If I owned and played him, I would honestly expect less than the starting two points; any of these upcoming teams could put several goals past the Toffees. With the bottom three sides effectively relegated and Everton safe, I think you will see a further drop off and those close score draws Everton ground out for league survival, disappear and fade into comprehensive defeats. Stay well clear.

🇪🇸 Dean Huijsen – Bournemouth (£4.5m, 4.2%)
As a recent owner up until last GW, I am a little disappointed to be recommending you remove him from your squad. Huijsen has been a great signing this season and has been important in Bournemouth’s uptick in form, but as comes with time, things change. Fixture-wise, apart from Leicester on the last day of the season (GW38), they have difficult matches including Arsenal, Man City and Aston Villa for the remainder of the season.
With so many teams conceding goals, I would at least like to give my players a chance to keep a clean sheet. Over this period, I don’t foresee many for him. Yes, he got an assist last GW, but don’t let recent bias cloud your judgment. Since GW21, Huijsen has only kept one clean sheet and scored a high of only six points once. Even at the low price of £4.5m, there are better alternatives and odds of greater points. Dan Burn, Levi Colwill, Ezri Konsa and Wan-Bissaka are viable choices.

Top Tip — Look forward to Blank GW34. With all the excitement of the upcoming double 32 & 33 GWs, it's easy to lose sight of the near future. Yes, pack your team out with players that play twice instead of once, but begin to consider navigating GW34, where many teams won't play. If you have the Free Hit remaining, then it’s not too much of a concern, but if you don’t have it in hand, plan now.
🦸 Gameweek 32 Captaincy Selections
🇸🇪 Alexander Isak - Newcastle (£9.5m, 58.8%)
A blank, but don’t panic. The fact that Newcastle scored 3 goals and Isak wasn’t involved at all is an anomaly. With an upcoming double this GW against Man Utd and Crystal Palace, he will score highly as both of these teams concede, particularly Crystal Palace, who have some selection issues after receiving two red cards and losing the solid Marc Guehi. Big things are expected.
Alternative Captain Options
With all the rotation and injury niggles flying around it’s hard to predict past Isak but there are options, there always is. Though Salah has blanked a few GWs, and managers are starting to consider selling, categorically, don’t! Salah against West Ham is a great option, as is Palmer against Ipswich. Slightly riskier picks are Pedro against Leicester, Cunha against Tottenham and Rogers against Southampton; the risk could reward owners handsomely.
Top three for me this GW are: Isak, Salah, and Palmer
👁️ FPL Veteran's Vision and Verdict
Wildcard now triple captain time! I set up my Wildcard with the remainder of my chips to play in mind. Originally, GW32 was Bench Boost, but triple captain fits better now. I will be rolling this week's Free Transfer with 6 double game week players and the rest of my team strong in every single position. With a strong bench to turn to if required, I am looking forward to GW33 and the teams that double-up to include more players, most likely from Arsenal. As long as you have 6 doublers, you have every chance for a green arrow this week.
