Tottenham seem to have shaken off their early-season patchiness and having won each of their last four fixtures in all competitions, the Londoners should be primed to perform again in Hungary this week.

Ange Postecoglou’s confident side played with a real swagger at Old Trafford on Sunday when they thoroughly outclassed Man Utd while netting three goals for the third game running.

Tottenham also eased to a 3-0 win over Qarabag in the Europa League last week despite playing the majority of the contest a man down after an early Dragusin red card, which suggests they have the quality to record a routine victory in an 11 vs 11 test against an ordinary Ferencvaros outfit.

Brennan Johnson has been moving up through the gears in recent weeks and the in-form winger, who has been averaging 1.28 shots per 90 in the Premier League this term, has landed at least one accurate strike at goal in each of his last six appearances in all competitions overall.

With his confidence restored, the ex-Nottingham Forest winger is a menacing prospect for any defence and Johnson’s pace should put him into more threatening positions against Ferencvaros. Back the 23-year-old to lodge a shot on target for the seventh game in a row here.

Ferencvaros committed a shin-splintering 25 fouls in their reverse to Anderlecht on matchday one and serial offender Endre Botka accounted for an unmatched five of those fouls from his berth at right back.

Botka, who picked up a deserved yellow card for his multiple indiscretions last week, has averaged at least one foul per 90 minutes in European competitions in each of his last five seasons for Ferencvaros and he is likely to keep his aggression levels high against Tottenham in Budapest.

On an evening when little went right for Ferencvaros, winger Adama Traore was a bright spark against Anderlecht on UEL matchday one and the 29-year-old managed to net a late consolation goal with one of his two shots in Belgium.

Traore was also an influential figure for Ferencvaros in the Conference League last season and averaged 1.43 shots per 90 in his appearances in the competition.

Tottenham tend to offer up decent chances to most opponents and they allowed Qarabag to clock five attempts on target and an xGF of 2.20 against them last week. If they are overly generous from a defensive standpoint again, Traore should have a chance to aim another effort on target.

Yves Bissouma has been fighting to secure a regular first-team remit for Tottenham this season and the midfielder has been performing with buckets of enthusiasm when handed (rare) opportunities to start.

In Tottenham’s win against Qarabag last week, Bissouma was at the heart of most midfield skirmishes and alongside being fouled five times, he gave away two free kicks himself, while the 28-year-old was also collared for two fouls on his previous start for Spurs against Newcastle in the Premier League.

More of the same is expected from Bissouma in Hungary this week and he represents excellent value in the 2+ fouls bracket again against Ferencvaros.

Brennan Johnson has been silencing the naysayers this season and the winger continued his early-season hot streak at the weekend when he plundered Tottenham’s first goal against Man Utd at Old Trafford and the 23-year-old might have doubled up in Manchester had another effort not come back off the post.

Johnson’s finishing has been razor-sharp for around a month now and having found the net in each of his last four appearances in all competitions, the in-form forward looks like an anytime goalscorer option with excellent credentials again in Hungary.

Summer signing Dominic Solanke is finally starting to look like a £65m striker following an initial slow start for Tottenham and on Thursday, the 27-year-old will be aiming to score for the fourth Spurs fixture on the spin.

Solanke already tops the pile at Tottenham for average shots on target per 90 in the Premier League (2.02) and the ex-Bournemouth star managed to muster seven accurate attempts across his last three outings in all competitions.

Indeed, 70% of Solanke’s last ten shots for Tottenham have found the target and with that kind of accuracy, the centre-forward is easy to back in the 1+ shots on target bracket against Ferencvaros.

With Ange Postecoglou’s gung-ho tactical approach the driving force, Tottenham’s fixtures rarely fail to deliver in terms of excitement and goalmouth action and six of their last seven matches produced over 2.5 goals.

Spurs have already notched three or more goals in 50% of their eight competitive games since the summer and their commitment to attacking football should keep entertainment levels high in Hungary again on Thursday.

Since the appointment of Postecoglou in the summer of 2023, 73.4% of Tottenham’s fixtures in all competitions have featured over 2.5 goals, so back that trend to continue here.
