Tammeka v Flora Tallinn
🏟
Friday 5th August – 5:00PM KO
Tammeka’s horrible season won’t get any better when Flora travel down to Tartu. 2 3-0 defeats in a row to Levadia and Paide won’t bring much confidence to an already morale depleted team. 10 defeats in their last 13 is relegation form, Tammeka are lucky the teams beneath them are worse than they are. Tammeka will have one eye on next week when they travel to Tallinn to face Kalev, in which a defeat could really drag them into the relegation battle.
Flora on the other hand have been superb. A 90th minute winner last week against Kure kept their winning streak up to 6 games, a vital win to keep them 5 points clear at the top of the table. The impressive unbeaten run now stands at 36 league games, which accumulates to a full league season in Estonia. The confidence is high, and the streak is sure to continue here.
Tammeka don’t have the best of times when coming up against Flora, having last beat them way back in 2019, a massive 12 games ago. It’s been nothing but miserable since, losing 11 and drawing 1 of the following outings. Flora most recently have treated Tammeka like a toy, scoring for fun past them and hardly ever conceding. The most recent game ended in a 3-2 victory for the current league leaders, which led to the infamous post-match rant from then Tammeka head coach Miguel Santos, about referee bias towards the big teams.
Both teams will be at full strength. Tammeka will also be hoping to give new goalkeeper Richard Aland his debut against his former club. Flora have a wealth of stars amongst the squad, Zenjov, Alliku, Vassiljev and Kuraksin all nearly hitting double digits in goals this season.
Tammeka will surely struggle here, and it will be a matter of how many Flora will score.

Parnu v Kuressaare
🏟
Saturday 6th August – 3:00PM KO
Rock bottom Parnu, will be wishing the season would just end. Having only picked up 8 points all season, relegation is certainly knocking on the door now. A disappointing 3-0 defeat to Kalju last time out, with the game being over after 6 minutes with Parnu already being 2-0 down. With no fight or desire shown for the rest of the game, it was a long 90 minutes. The only positive was 17-year-old GK, Ott Nomm pulling off a string of impressive saves.
Kure come into this one following a spirted display against league leaders Flora. It took a 90th minute from Flora to defeat Kure, in a 3-2 defeat, with Kure coming from behind twice in the game. With a mixed run of form, this is the kind of game Kure would have hoped for to come next in the fixture list.
The reverse fixture of this game was the last time Parnu won a game. An impressive 3-1 victory which was seen as a shock at the time, a match which Parnu fully dominated. There has been a cup game between the 2 sides early last week, which was a thrilling end to end contest which Kure won on penalties.
Kure normally have the better of Parnu, they’ve won 3 of the last 5 league games between the sides, scoring a huge 13 goals in those victorys.
Kure will be at full strength, with no injuries or suspensions to worry about and will be hoping for Sten Reinkort to find his scoring boots again. Parnu will be without defender Martin Kase through suspension, and it seems that midfielder Enrico Veensalu will be missing through injury and will need new striker Kiivit to start finding the net fast.

Nomme Kalju v Talinna Kalev
🏟
Saturday 6th August– 5:30PM KO
Kalju managed to turn their recent poor form around against Parnu following a disastrous couple of games against Narva. The dropped points against Narva seemed to really anger the Kalju players, who took their frustrations out on the poor Parnu squad, being 3-0 up after 30 minutes. They did take their foot off the gas in the 2nd half and used it mainly as a fitness exercise.
Kalev shocked the Estonian footballing world by thrashing Narva 5-2 last week, who were in decent form. Those 5 goals account to 25% of Kalev’s goals this season. 37-year-old striker, Ats Purje netted a hattrick in that game to overtake Trawally to become their new top scorer. The little magician Ioan Yakovlev also notched up 4 assists in the game.
The last 20 games between the two sides is grim reading for Kalev fans, not winning once in that spell and only scoring 10 goals. Kalju on the other hand are far more dominant, winning 15 times and scoring a whopping 52 goals in the process.
Kalev will need star players to perform to stand any chance here. Ioan Yakovlev, the league’s top assist giver, who has contributed to half of Kalev’s goals this year, needs to be on top form. They’ll also be thankful to have a full squad to pick from.
Kalju top scorer Alex Tamm, who has managed double digits for the 1st time in his career, will be missing through suspension, as will be defender, Yohan Mannone. Maksim Gussev and Aleksandr Volkov will be looking to fill Tamm’s boots and add to their totals this season.
