Tottenham welcome Fulham in a London derby with Thomas Frank desperate for a convincing performance at home in the Premier League. Tottenham have only won one of their six home matches in the top flight (v Burnley).
Fulham sit probably where most people expect them to finish this season, with Marco Silva’s side notably without a win on the road in the Premier League so far this term, losing five of their six matches.

📂 Tottenham v Fulham Cheat Sheet
📈 Tottenham v Fulham Form & Tactics
This is a must-win game for Thomas Frank. Tottenham have been well below the level required in their home matches so far, and it also won’t go unnoticed how they’ve collapsed in London derbies over the last few years. Tottenham’s only win in their London derbies so far this season came against West Ham, with both Chelsea and Arsenal dispatching the Lilywhites with ease since.
After four wins from his first five matches of the campaign, Thomas Frank has seen his side win just four of the 13 games following that promising period in the early weeks of the campaign. The manner in which Tottenham approach games is really concerning. Thomas Frank should be afforded some sympathy as he is without his two main creative players in Maddison and Kulusevski, but the performance against Arsenal in the North London Derby was spineless.
Tottenham have twice broken their club record for the lowest xG in a match this season. Chelsea limited them to an xG of 0.10 in their 1-0 win in North London, while Arsenal kept them to a 0.07 xG. These are really worrying numbers for Thomas Frank, and bring into question if he is able to coach patterns of play to the same level as the other elite coaches.
Fulham have been really poor on the road this season, with five defeats from their six trips away from Craven Cottage. Only Leeds (15), Bournemouth (16), and Burnley (18) have conceded more goals on the road in the Premier League than Fulham this season (13). Silva will also be worried about the lack of attacking output the Cottagers carry on the road, with Fulham netting just four goals across these away matches.
That being said, Fulham avoided defeat in both head-to-head meetings against Tottenham last season, claiming a 1-1 draw in this fixture before winning 2-0 at Craven Cottage. You have to go back to 2023 for Tottenham’s last win over Fulham, which is a record that may encourage Fulham to sense a real opportunity to further the pain of Frank and Tottenham.
📔 Tottenham v Fulham Formation & Team News
Thomas Frank has switched between a few shapes this season, but I’d be very surprised if he went with a back five here. He’s tried that twice in games against Arsenal and Chelsea, and Tottenham have been ripped apart on both occasions. This is mainly because there isn’t an outlet when Tottenham line up in this shape, leaving the Lilywhites with a blunted attacking threat.
With those recent performances in mind, a 4-2-3-1 or a 4-3-3 are the most likely shapes for Tottenham to take on here. Tottenham play PSG during the week, which may impact some of Frank’s selections here, but this game is a lot more important to Frank than that Champions League clash given how poor Tottenham have been at home and in London derbies recently.
You can always expect Fulham to be an organised side under Marco Silva. They’re a side that consistently finishes mid-table and could be described as the quintessential Premier League side in that they are an example of what makes this league so great, with an ability to turn over any level of opponent.
They’ll line up in a 4-2-3-1 here with a focus on the left-hand side of the pitch. This has long been Fulham’s strongest area of the field, and they’ve been bedding in Kevin to that left wing position in recent weeks, possibly furthering the threat that they can carry down that side of the pitch.
What is clear when watching Fulham is that Alex Iwobi is their most important player. He has matured well since leaving Arsenal and is now a mainstay in the Cottagers' side, registering 15 goal contributions last campaign. He may play a bit deeper here now that Kevin is getting a run in the side, so worth watching for fouls and tackles in the coming weeks.
