Real Madrid to Win @ 1.42

Boasting the impressive record of seven wins from eight league games this season, Real Madrid have every reason to approach this match with confidence. An uncharacteristic 5-2 loss against Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid has ruined Real Madrid’s perfect record, but since that defeat Los Blancos have bounced back strongly.

They eased past Kairat Almaty by a 5-0 scoreline, making it two wins from two in the Champions League. Los Blancos then beat an in-form Villarreal side 3-1 at the Bernabeu, courtesy of a Vinicius Jr brace.

Real Madrid have had the upper hand in this matchup against Getafe in recent seasons, winning each of the last seven head-to-head encounters. It finished 1-0 when these sides last met back in April, but Kylian Mbappe was a notable absentee from that match, while Arda Guler scored the winning goal. Getafe last beat Real Madrid back in 2022, holding on to a 1-0 victory at the Coliseum Stadium.

Over 2.5 Goals @ 1.90

Despite sitting top of La Liga, Real Madrid have still conceded nine goals from their eight league matches, keeping just one clean sheet from their last six. The key reason for their success has been their free-scoring nature, but they have at times been left wanting defensively.

Los Blancos also have a multitude of defensive injuries to contend with, so Xabi Alonso may be forced into selecting a makeshift backline. Both Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dani Carvajal have missed the last few weeks through injury, so are unlikely to start here with a lack of match sharpness. Dean Huijsen is sidelined along with Antonio Rudiger, leaving Real Madrid further depleted at centre back.

Although Getafe lost 1-0 in this fixture last season, they did manage to score against both Barcelona and Atletico Madrid at the Coliseum Stadium, so they will be confident of contributing to the scoreline against the league-leaders.

Kylian Mbappe to Score Anytime @ 1.72

Mbappe picked up an injury late on against Azerbaijan during the October international break, and missed out against Iceland in the proceeding game, but he provided a major boost to Real Madrid fans as he is set to be available for selection this weekend.

Before his withdrawal, the Frenchman did manage to get on the scoresheet against Azerbaijan in that World Cup qualifying match, meaning he extended his scoring streak to 10 consecutive games in all competitions. The 26-year-old has been in scintillating form this campaign, and he already has nine league goals to his name.

Mbappe has simply been on another level this term, and he is well on track to retain his Pichichi trophy - Julian Alvarez is currently his closest competitor with six goals. Mbappe bagged a hat-trick against Kairat Almaty on his last European outing, after scoring a brace against Marseille in Champions League matchday 1.

Mauro Arambarri Over 0.5 Shots @ 1.44

Real Madrid completed the league double over Getafe last season, but the hosts can be a stubborn opponent to face, particularly at the Coliseum Stadium. Getafe gave Los Blancos a real run for their money when they last hosted Real Madrid, as they racked up 20 shots worth 2.36 xG to no avail. Mauro Arambarri accounted for three of those efforts, and he was guilty of missing a big chance.

The 30-year-old has managed the most attempts for Getafe this season, averaging 1.54 shots per 90, and has become their primary attacking option following the departure of Christantus Uche. Arambarri managed to land this selection against the big boys last season on home turf, registering three shots (and a goal) against Barcelona before being replaced at half time, while also scoring a brace against Atletico Madrid from four shots in total.

📈 Getafe v Real Madrid Form & Tactics

After starting the season with back-to-back wins, Getafe have won just one of their last six matches, which has seen them slump to 11th in the league. However, they have remained unbeaten on home turf, which is an improvement on last season. Getafe won just four league matches at the Coliseum Stadium in the previous campaign, accumulating the 3rd-lowest points tally at home in the Spanish top-flight.

Real Madrid were at the opposite end of the table in that particular metric, racking up the most points in their home games, but they did show a slight vulnerability on the road. Los Blancos won just 10 of their 19 games, and their one loss this season has come on their travels.

However, Xabi Alonso’s men were totally dominant in their match against Villarreal just before the international break, accumulating a total of 26 shots and seven big chances, which amounted to 3.52 xG. In return, the Yellow Submarine could only muster up nine shots worth 1.0 xG. Real Madrid have scored multiple goals in each of their last nine matches in all competitions, and it’s going to take some stopping to keep them quiet on Sunday night.

📔Getafe v Real Madrid Formation & Team News

Jin Letacek is the only doubt for Getafe, so David Soria will retain his spot in between the sticks. Jose Bordalas is expected to stick with his 5-3-2 formation, setting up his side to be compact and difficult to break through. He will be boosted by the return of Adrian Liso, who will be available again after competing for Spain U20 at the World Cup. The 20-year-old will likely partner Borja Mayoral upfront, who has started every game for Getafe since the departure of Uche.

With Real Madrid are dealing with several defensive absentees, Raul Asencio is likely to feature in a more natural centre back role alongside Eder Militao, while Fede Valverde could fill in at right back again. Jude Bellingham could be set to return after missing out on international duty for England, but he has started just one game this season.

Arda Guler is certain to retain his spot in an attacking midfield role, given his positive recent form. During the international break, he helped Turkey win both of their games by an aggregate score of 10-2, contributing two assists and a goal.
