SURREY MIST has fared well in strong handicaps this term, including a staying-on seventh in the ultra-competitive King George V Stakes at Royal Ascot on penultimate start. The unexposed grey is best suited by a strong pace and should have plenty of speed to aim at in this Goodwood event, with a late run expected if allowed a clear passage. This is a strong handicap, which will need a career best performance to come out of top, but there is a genuine each-way case to be made for the selection. Hollie Doyle is an eyecatching jockey booking and he appeals as one who is priced above his potential from a handy low draw.

The Ed Walker-trained four-year-old filly PRIMO BACIO has contended stronger races in her previous two outings. She has performed better than her finishing positions have suggested, too, including a fourth in the G1 Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket over a mile. Despite only beating one home on that occasion, she was behind Sandrine, who ran out a determined winner of the G2 Lennox Stakes here yesterday, to boost the form. The ground should be more in her favour this time around, with sufficient watering expected to take place to ensure safe ground, and she looks ready to be competitive at what could be her ideal trip.
One who may better than her odds suggest is INTERNATIONALANGEL. The daughter of Dark Angel is forgiven a below par effort behind one of the likely favourites Soft Whisper at Chelmsford last time when slowly away from the stalls. Her trainer knows how to win at Group level, having trained the excellent Saffron Beach to an easy victory at Royal Ascot last month. She isnβt too far off her rivals on the official ratings and could travel well for a long way into this event, if running on from a likely honest gallop.

ROCKET RODNEY rewarded us with each-way returns when an agonising neck second behind Little Big Bear in the Listed Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot last month. The form of that race is exceptional β seven subsequent winners have scored on their next run β including a Group Three winner, a pair of Listed scorers and first in the Super Sprint at Newbury. The selection is a short price to continue his upward curve but with good reason. He gained a deserved success in a Listed event at Sandown next time and should have too much speed for his opposition at a track he impressed on second time out.

The feature race of the day is fully expected to go the way of superstar, Baaeed, who remains a perfect 8-8 after an effortless victory in the G1 Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot. In the battle to fight it out for the places, ANGEL BLEU could cause somewhat of a surprise. He was soundly beaten in the G1 St Jamesβs Palace Stakes but should be more effective back at this winning venue; he landed the G2 Vintage Stakes over 7f here last season. Itβs not beyond the realms of possibility that he could pick up some of the pieces late on if there is a strong pace from the likes of Order Of Australia, Chindit and Bathrat Leon.

An each-way chance is given to the Roger Varian-trained PERIPATETIC after a satisfactory handicap debut when third at Salisbury. She had excuses that day, running on after a tardy start, in what appeared a sprint to the finish. A more end-to-end gallop would ideally suit the daughter of Ulysses and she has scope for improvement having eased a pound for that effort.

Two at big prices catch the eye from an each-way perspective. UNION COURT has made a bright start to his career with a pair of victories prior to an excellent six-length ninth in the Listed Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot; I alluded to how strong that form is earlier. He ran with plenty of credit with a front-running fourth in the Super Sprint at Newbury subsequently and looks a shade overpriced at double-figure odds against a few ahead of him in the better who lack as much experience.
One at a huge price who may run on into a minor place is ANGELIC DIVAS. A forgiving nature is needed after a poor show on second career start when blowing out at Sandown, but she ran promisingly on debut at Salisbury, with a late running-on effort into third.

A small chance is taken on the reappearing AMOR VINCIT OMNIA. Although this is his first run back after a long absence, he is respected having scored on his final start last term, winning with something to spare. He beat five subsequent winners at Haydock and could easily have more to offer from a 6lb higher mark. This is the selectionβs first outing for Hugo Palmer, who boasts a Β£1 level-stake profit of Β£7.33 at Goodwood in the previous five seasons. The jockey booking of Ryan Moore β already successful at the meeting this week β catches the eye, too.
