Steve Clarke’s side drew first blood after battling their way to a hard-fought 1-0 win in Piraeus on Thursday night, and they will now look to finish the job in Glasgow this weekend.

After netting the only goal of the game on Thursday night, the Scotland midfielder has now scored 11 times across his last 18 competitive appearances for Scotland. The Napoli ace has registered one or more on-target efforts in six of his seven outings in this edition of the Nations League, including each of Scotland’s three home games to date.

⚪ Kostas Tsimikas

Look to Kostas Tsimikas to commit two or more fouls on Sunday evening. Tsimikas’ love of a strong tackle saw him give away no fewer than three free kicks during Thursday night’s first leg, not to mention he was guilty of multiple misdemeanours in two of the four matches he started during the group stage. The Greek left back could be in direct battle with John McGinn, who earned Scotland three fouls on Thursday night.

💻 Scotland v Greece Form and Tactics

Scotland took a big step towards preserving their Group A status in the Nations League with a 1-0 win over Greece on Thursday night. Steve Clarke’s side performed well in the first half before producing a brilliant backs-to-the-wall display after the interval. In fact, Scotland lost the shot count 24-8, not to mention they scored with just one of their two on-target efforts. 

Nevertheless, Scotland’s form remains on an upward curve, with Thursday night’s victory extending their unbeaten run to four matches, with the Tartan Army triumphing in each of their last three Nations League assignments.

Scotland had to defend no fewer than eight corners on Thursday night and they could be faced with a similar number on Sunday evening. Croatia and Portugal racked up seven and nine corners on their respective Nations League trips to Hampden last year, not to mention Poland also won the corner count on matchday one.

Greece will consider themselves unlucky to be trailing ahead of Sunday’s return match in Glasgow. Ivan Jovanovic’s side produced an xG output of 2.74 to Scotland's 1.40, though they could only muster one on-target effort from their 24 attempts.

While Greece suffered back-to-back home defeats for the first time since 2019 on Thursday night, they can draw confidence from their recent record away from home. Jovanovic’s team took top honours from each of their three Nations League away games during the league phase, defeating England at Wembley either side of a pair of 2-0 wins at both the Republic of Ireland and Finland.

Greece have been relatively well behaved up until this point in the Nations League, collecting a combined total of 15 yellow cards across their seven outings to date, with just one of those cautions coming against Scotland last time out.
