Hearts v Aberdeen
Kick Off: Saturday 19th April at 12:30
Competition: Scottish Cup
Watch Live: BBC Scotland
Fighting it out for a spot in the Scottish Cup final, Hearts square off with Aberdeen at Hampden on Saturday.
Hearts have seen off Brechin, St Mirren and Dundee to reach the semi-final stage, while Aberdeen have dispatched Elgin, Dunfermline and Queen’s Park to seal their passage to the last four.
⭐ Hearts v Aberdeen Best Bets
Aberdeen arrive at Hampden in the better shape of the two teams, making them an appealing option to avoid defeat inside 90 minutes. The Dons are currently enjoying a six-match unbeaten run, not to mention they have avoided defeat in each of their previous three meetings with Hearts this season.
Meanwhile, Hearts are winless in three matches and missed out on the top six of the Scottish Premiership after drawing 0-0 with Motherwell last weekend.

🔍 Hearts v Aberdeen Players to Watch
🔴 Blair Spittal
In a campaign where Hearts have underwhelmed, Blair Spittal has been one of the few shining lights. The Hearts playmaker has registered six goals and six assists across his 45 appearances in all competitions this season, with one of those strikes coming against Aberdeen. Spittal is always more than willing to try his luck in front of goal, attempting at least one shot in 27 of his 33 Scottish Premiership appearances this season.
🟡 Kevin Nisbet
Kevin Nisbet’s impressive goalscoring form in recent months has earned him a recall to the Scotland squad. The Aberdeen attacker has notched seven goals across his last 10 appearances in all competitions and could prove to be a thorn in Hearts’ defence on Saturday. The in-form forward has attempted multiple shots on goal in nine of his last 10 outings in the Scottish top-flight, hitting the target in four of his last five appearances.

💻 Hearts v Aberdeen Form and Tactics
Hearts will be desperate to bounce back from the disappointment of missing out on the top six after drawing with Motherwell last weekend. It ended goalless at Fir Park, with Hearts mustering up just two on-target efforts from their 12 total attempts. While that stalemate did halt Hearts’ two-game losing run, they are now without a win in three matches.
Keeping a clean sheet against Motherwell was one of the few positives for Hearts as they had failed to do so in eight of their previous nine matches before last weekend.
Only Celtic and Rangers have averaged more corners per game than Hearts in the Scottish Premiership this season. Neil Critchley’s side have come out on top on the corner count in two of their three meetings with Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership this term, racking up nine flag kicks when they hosted the Dons back in December.
Aberdeen boss Jimmy Thelin cut a frustrated figure after watching his side squander a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with 10-man Rangers at Pittodrie last Sunday. The game was set up for Aberdeen to take top honours, but they failed to make the most of their numerical advantage.
Despite last week’s disappointment, Aberdeen appear to have come through their difficult mid-season slump, with Thelin’s team now unbeaten in six matches, winning three of their last five. What’s more, Aberdeen have scored at least once in nine of their last 10 matches, hitting multiple goals in six of those contests.
One notable thing about Aberdeen is the number of cards that they receive. The Dons’ lack of discipline this season has seen them rack up 77 yellow cards across their 33 Scottish Premiership matches this term to date, including five when they took on Hearts at Tynecastle in December.
