SALONICA was a non-runner when fancied last week. She is yet to win from six all-weather attempts but has placed twice from a higher mark, leaving her well treated to deliver a first career success. The Showcasing filly was in the process of running a huge race over course and distance earlier this month, travelling sweetly from off the pace, before having the door slammed shut on a couple of occasions from the 2f pole. She had little chance thereafter and has been kindly dropped in the weights for that luckless run.

The daughter of Sixties Icon looks a thorough stayer who could appreciate this extra yardage switched to the all-weather, a surface where she ran creditably on sole attempt at Kempton over an inadequate mile. On the face of things SPRING BLOOM appears to have plenty on his plate, having raised 7lb from his last run, but that jump in the weights is fully justified judging on his previous two victories in effortless style, including over course and distance.
