📈 Kilmarnock v Hearts Form & Stats

After showing some signs of life under Neil McCann, Kilmarnock's recent revival came to a shuddering halt with a 5-1 defeat at Falkirk last time out. While the Ayrshire club sit seven points clear of rock-bottom Livingston, they remain in the relegation play-off spot, three points adrift of St Mirren heading into this weekend's action.

A large part of Kilmarnock's struggles this season can be traced to their defence, having conceded a league-high 60 goals in the Scottish Premiership so far. Despite continuing to leak goals at an alarming rate, Kilmarnock have increased their attacking output under McCann. Killie have scored at least twice in each of their last three Scottish Premiership home matches, including a 3-2 loss to Celtic.

Discipline has also been an issue, with five of the hosts’ last 10 Scottish Premiership matches featuring a red card, three of which have gone to Kilmarnock players.

Hearts have won their last two Scottish Premiership matches, 1-0 against Falkirk and Aberdeen, which has seen them open up a five-point lead at the top of the table heading into the final nine rounds of fixtures. That pair of victories means an impressive 14 of Hearts' 19 Scottish Premiership wins this season have come with a clean sheet.

While Hearts have lost just four times in this season's Scottish Premiership, three of those defeats have come across their last five away matches, including each of the previous two.

Like Kilmarnock, red cards have also been a recurring theme in Hearts' Scottish Premiership matches in recent months, with six flashed across their previous nine league games.

No team has scored more away goals than Hearts (24) in this season's Scottish Premiership, with the Jam Tarts hitting multiple strikes in 10 of their 14 road trips this term.

📔 Kilmarnock v Hearts Formation & Team News

Since taking the reins at Rugby Park, Neil McCann has favoured a 4-4-2 formation. After their horror show at Falkirk a fortnight ago, the Killie boss will almost certainly be contemplating changes to his starting XI on Saturday night. However, he will be unable to call upon the services of Djenairo Daniels, Lewis Mayo, Kyle Magennis and Tyreece John-Jules, all of whom are sidelined through injury.

Derek McInnes has tended to alternate between a 4-2-3-1 and a 4-4-2 formation this season, opting for the latter in Hearts' most recent Scottish Premiership outing against Aberdeen.

The league leaders will travel to Rugby Park carrying a lengthy injury list that includes Ageu, Calem Nieuwenhof, Cammy Devlin, Craig Gordon, Finlay Pollock, Lawrence Shankland, Oisin McEntee, Stephen Kingsley and Stuart Findlay.
