I think a strong case can be made for both teams to get on the scoresheet at Rugby Park on Saturday night.

Kilmarnock have looked much improved in the final third under Neil McCann, as highlighted by their scoring in seven of their eight league matches since his appointment. Moreover, BTTS would have been the correct call in six of those eight fixtures, which include a trip to Rangers and a home clash with Celtic.

While a solid defensive foundation has underpinned Hearts' title charge, they have looked a little shaky at the back on their travels in recent months. Derek McInnes' men have failed to keep a clean sheet in three of their last five Scottish Premiership away matches, conceding multiple goals in two of those contests.

The case is further supported by the fact that both teams scored when these two sides met at Tynecastle earlier in the season. Kilmarnock have looked more competitive since then, which only adds weight to backing both teams to score again at Rugby Park on Saturday night.

I fully expect Kilmarnock to play on the front foot on Saturday night, which should lend itself to both teams racking up plenty of corners, with over 7.5 looking well within range. Moreover, both sides have been relatively reliable when it comes to corner-heavy games this season, with the pair's matches both producing an average of 9.94 flag kicks per game in this season's Scottish Premiership.

Hearts, as you would expect, rank among the top teams for corners in the Scottish Premiership this season, averaging 5.45 per 90. Notably, when these two sides last met at Tynecastle, the capital club single-handedly covered the over 7.5 line by racking up nine corners to Kilmarnock's one.

However, I would expect Killie to chip in with a few more corners this time around, particularly in front of their own supporters. Notably, Neil McCann's side have forced 7, 9, and 6 corners across their last three Scottish Premiership home matches, the latter of which came against Celtic, so they should be capable of making a meaningful contribution on Saturday night.

Claudio Braga has cut a talismanic figure for Hearts this season, and I’m more than happy to back him to hit the target at least once during this contest.

The Portuguese forward is the third-highest goalscorer in the Scottish Premiership this season, and he is a player who rarely passes up the chance to try his luck in front of goal. That is reflected in his numbers, with Braga averaging a hefty 3.12 shots per game in the Scottish top flight this term, while his shots on target figure stands at 1.48 per 90.

A closer look at the data shows that his shots on target average has been trending sharply upward in recent months. In fact, Braga has tested the opposition goalkeeper in seven of his last eight Scottish Premiership outings, including three shots on target against Aberdeen last time out.

While Kilmarnock are showing plenty of fight in their battle for survival, they still hold the unenviable tag of the leakiest defence in the division, and they are conceding an average of 5.87 shots on target per game. That should give Braga ample opportunity to register at least one on-target effort on Saturday night.

Joe Hugill has caught the eye for Kilmarnock since joining the club from Manchester United at the end of January, and I think he looks worth backing to hit the target at least once against Hearts on Saturday night.

The 22-year-old forward registered one on-target effort on his debut as an 11-minute substitute against Aberdeen, and he notably grabbed his first goal for Kilmarnock in a 3-2 defeat to Celtic at this venue last month. It is also worth pointing out that Hugill put the ball in the back of the net away at Falkirk last time out, only to be denied by VAR for offside.

With Tyreece John-Jules ruled out for the remainder of the season, more attacking responsibility is likely to fall on Hugill’s shoulders, and I think he looks like the go-to Killie player in the shots on target market on Saturday night.

Although Hearts have exceeded expectations this season and sit in a position to make history by winning the Scottish Premiership title, they are not afraid to sit back and soak up pressure when required. That approach should boost Hugill’s chances of hitting the target.
