This selection landed comfortably in both of Stockport’s semi-finals, with 14 corners in the first leg and 12 in the second. Stockport recorded 10 corners to Stevenage's four in the first leg of the semi-final, which shows how effective they can be when it comes to sustaining pressure, and they like to utilise width when they attack. 

Bolton have also been productive from wide areas throughout the campaign, and they are averaging 6.2 corners per game in League One. They went close to clearing this line in the first leg of the semi-finals against Bradford City, as there were nine corners in that match, but the second leg saw 11 corners.

There have been 32 corners across the two league meetings between Bolton and Stockport this season, with exactly 16 in both matches. Bolton had 12 corners alone when they hosted Stockport at the Toughsheet Community Stadium.

There were three cards in both regular-season meetings between the sides, and Stockport accounted for all three in the home fixture at Edgeley Park. They were also booked twice in the away meeting, meaning this selection landed in both games. Stockport are averaging 1.93 cards per game in the league this season, rising to 2.12 when playing away. Meanwhile, Bolton are drawing an average of 2.17 cards per game in the league this season, and those two trends marry up nicely to back Stockport cards here. 

The stakes could not be higher this weekend, with this being a play-off final between clubs separated by just over 10 miles. Stockport were one of the most combative sides in League One this season, and they picked up nine red cards in their 46 regular-season matches - only Wigan Athletic were shown more.

Kyle Wootton is Stockport's top scorer this season with 19 goals from 46 appearances, but he has been deployed at centre back in recent weeks due to injuries in defensive areas for Stockport. Even despite playing much deeper, Wootton showed in the semi-final against Stevenage that he can still contribute going forward, as he scored in the second leg. Wootton has those attacking instincts to pop up in the right position in the box, and he has an impressive record against Bolton. He has landed this selection in all four appearances against them, with two goals in that period. 

Wootton will be Stockport's primary set piece target given his aerial ability, and he is averaging 1.98 shots per 90 in the league this season. 47% of those attempts have hit the target, and the majority of his shots are from inside the box.

Tayo Edun operates at left back for Stockport, meaning he will be tasked with containing Amario Cozier-Duberry this weekend, who is one of Bolton’s biggest threats in the final third. The 20-year-old contributed to 18 goals in his 34 League One appearances this season, and he is also averaging 1.18 fouls drawn per 90. Cozier-Duberry often looks to dribble past his opposing full back, which should bring Edun into the game plenty of times on the defensive front. 

Edun racked up five fouls across the two semi-final play-off matches against Stevenage, including four infringements in the first leg. He tends to be quite aggressive in his duels, rather than backing off, and he is averaging 1.65 fouls per 90 in the league this season. Edun didn’t start either match against Bolton in the league this season, but he did appear for the second half in the away fixture, and he committed one foul on that occasion.

Ethan Erhahon overcame a calf injury to return just in time for the play-offs, and his importance to Bolton's midfield was evident against Bradford City in the semi-final. He recorded exactly two fouls in both legs against Bradford and was fortunate to escape a booking on each occasion, but the stakes are even higher this weekend. 

Erhahon is averaging 1.35 fouls per 90 across all competitions this season, which has only translated to four yellow cards from his 30 appearances this campaign, but two of those bookings have come in his last four starts. The 25-year-old can sometimes tend to be a bit rash in his challenges, and forced into cynical fouls, and he should have plenty of defensive work to get through against Stockport here. He picked up nine yellows and a red in 36 appearances across all competitions last season, and 13 yellows and one red in the campaign before that.

Oliver Norwood has been one of the standout performers in League One this campaign, and his tally of eight goals and 11 assists from 41 league appearances is an impressive return for a holding midfielder. The 35-year-old scored against Barnsley from the penalty just before the play-offs started, and his side will be relying on him at Wembley this weekend - his experience will be vital for Stockport. 

Norwood is averaging 1.18 shots per 90 across all competitions this season, and he had one shot which hit the target in the playoff semi-final second leg against Stevenage. Norwood is the designated penalty taker for his side, and he has converted five out of six from the spot this season, while he is also responsible for free kicks. In fact, he has also scored twice directly from free kicks in the league this season.

Ben Osborn scored in the semi-final first leg against Stevenage, before then providing an assist for Louie Barry to open the scoring in the second leg. Osborn was involved in two of Stockport’s three goals across the tie, so he has more than contributed to their spot in the final. He has only got six goal involvements to his name this season - one goal and five assists, but it is worth mentioning that he has featured for large parts of the campaign at full back. 

Osborn has returned to midfield in recent weeks, which has increased his threat in the final third. He is another player in the Stockport team with bags of experience, which will be important in this final, and he contributed an assist when he last faced Bolton.
