Leeds fans will be full of optimism after their start to the season, winning both their home games. They were given an uphill battle after losing Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha in the summer, but the new recruits look to have settled in well, particularly Brenden Aaronson and Tyler Adams. Marsch will be hoping for more of the same in front of a packed Elland Road.

Everton have continued their poor form from last season and are yet to pick up a win from their opening four games. They’ve brought in proven Premier League defenders in James Tarkowski and Conor Coady, but are still conceding an average of 1.91 xG per game. Lampard will want to improve this and tighten up defensively, but I’m not sure they’ll be able to survive the Leeds atmosphere and I doubt they come away with a clean sheet.

Leeds United v Everton Bet Builder Tips

Rodrigo to have 3+ Shots

Rodrigo needs no invitation to shoot. The Spaniard has racked up 18 shots in the league already this season, placing him joint second alongside Haaland and one behind Mitrovic. He had five shots against Brighton on Saturday and four against Chelsea the previous week. Despite having nine shots across these two games, he only accumulated an xG of 0.47, which shows his willingness to shoot from anywhere.

Everton look vulnerable at the back under Lampard and are yet to keep a clean sheet this season in the league. They face an average of 15 shots per game, and with Rodrigo now playing as more of a striker, he should be provided with more shooting opportunities. I’m backing him to have three or more shots.

🎯
Prediction: Rodrigo to have 3+ Shots

Anthony Gordon to have 1+ Shots on Target

Gordon has been Everton’s main man since Richarlison left and Calvert-Lewin has been injured. He’s played every minute in the league this season under Lampard and is another one who loves to shoot. He’s actually managed to have the most shots on target this season, firing towards goal 11 times.

Meslier made the most saves in the league last season, showing Leeds’ tendency to concede chances. They’ve already conceded 17 shots on target so far this season, and Gordon will be looking to take advantage of this. If any opportunities arise for Everton, there’s a good chance they will fall for Anthony Gordon, so I’m predicting him to have a shot on target.

Tyler Adams to be Shown a Card

With the high intensity style of play that Jesse Marsch wants to implement, Leeds look to win the ball back quickly by pressing in numbers. Sometimes this intense press results in fouls, as was seen at the weekend against Brighton. All three of Leeds’ first half bookings came as a result of getting caught in the transition. Tyler Adams was lucky to escape a booking at the weekend, having committed four fouls. He’s actually committed the third most fouls in the league, and has been booked once so far.

Everton will look to play on the counter, and it will be Adams’ job to stop this threat. Coming up against the likes of Gordon, Gray, and Onana, I expect Adams to be in amongst the action and commit a few fouls.

Prediction: Tyler Adams to be Shown a Card

Over 4.5 Leeds Corners

Leeds will have the chance to break into the top four with a win against Everton. The fans will know this and I think the Elland Road atmosphere will be a massive advantage. I’m sure Marsch will look to put the pressure on Everton early doors and start fast.

Brentford managed to get eight corners against Everton on Saturday, and Leeds will want to do the same. Leeds are already averaging five corners at home in the league, and against a defensive Everton, who have conceded the most corners in the league, I fully expect Leeds this selection to land.

Prediction: Over 4.5 Leeds Corners
