Hansi Flick’s side made an emphatic start to their title defence, sweeping aside Mallorca with a convincing 3-0 victory last time out. Soon after, Ferran Torres doubled the lead with a spectacular strike from outside the box, albeit in controversial circumstances.

Barcelona’s task was made significantly easier for the second period, as Mallorca were reduced to nine men - Manu Morlanes and Vedat Muriqi both shown red cards before the break. With a two-man advantage, the Catalans fully imposed themselves on the game, dominating possession and creating chance after chance. In total, they racked up 17 shots while restricting Mallorca to just two.
