Bruno Fernandes to have 1+ Shots on Target

Bruno Fernandes scored both of Man United’s goals in their 2-1 win over West Ham in their first game of the PL Summer Series. Fernandes was deployed in an advanced role, supporting Rasmus Hojlund as the main striker and also having Matheus Cunha alongside him.

It’s worth keeping an eye on Fernandes’ positioning in the upcoming season as the signing of Bryan Mbuemo may push him into a slightly deeper role. However, for now he should still play in a more advanced role and be able to carry the momentum from the first game into this clash - Fernandes had 29 shots on target across his 36 Premier League appearances last season (0.86 per 90).

Bournemouth to have 4+ Shots on Target

Bournemouth ran out 3-0 winners over Everton in their first game of the PL summer series and comfortably covered the 4+ shots on target line we’re setting for them here.

Bournemouth averaged 5.05 shots on target per game in the Premier League last season, only Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea found the target more often than the Cherries last season. Bournemouth had five shots on target in their 3-0 win over Man United at Old Trafford during the 24/25 season.

🔴 Man United's Sharpness Improves, But Structural Issues Persist

Man United still look to be in a little bit of a mess. The signings of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo do bolster their front line, but don’t do much to address the issues that United faced in the middle of the park last season, and the goalkeeper situation is also one that needs addressing before the start of the season. Benjamin Sesko is the latest name linked with Old Trafford, but their squad is still quite a way from competing with the other traditional big six clubs.

The most notable takeaway from United’s first game of the Summer Series against West Ham was that they looked a lot fitter and sharper - really basic things, but they were missing from the bulk of United’s performances last season. Ruben Amorim appears to have focused on making sure his side can cope with the physical demands of the Premier League, which is something they have fallen short in for the last few seasons.

Iraola’s Aggressive Style Makes Bournemouth a Team to Watch

I’m really excited to watch Bournemouth next season. I think they’ll be able to build on their highest-ever Premier League points total from last season and once again finish in or around the European spots. Bournemouth avoided defeat against United in both league games last season, earning a 1-1 draw at home and registering a historic 3-0 victory at Old Trafford.

Bournemouth may have lost Dean Huijsen and Milos Kerkez, but they have been active in the transfer window to ensure that the Cherries can maintain their levels from last season. Their 3-0 win over Everton in their opening game of the Summer Series showcased their main strengths under Andoni Iraola in that they are very aggressive off the ball and look to get shots away as quickly as possible when they win the ball back.

📊 Man United v Bournemouth H2H

Man United’s last win over Bournemouth was all the way back in May 2023, the Cherries have avoided defeat against the Red Devils in the four meetings that have followed that defeat.

Their two clashes last term saw Bournemouth win 3-0 at Old Trafford, before drawing 1-1 on the South coast.
