Monday’s Euro 2024 Qualifiers Double Tips
Portugal v Luxembourg
It has been a perfect first half of Euro 2024 qualifying for Roberto Martinez’s Portugal side and a win on Monday against Luxembourg will see them edge ever closer to confirming their place at next summer’s championships in Germany. Their opponents Luxembourg will also be very delighted with how they have performed in the group as they find themselves level on points with Slovakia in second place and sit third only on goal difference.
The Luxembourgers have been relatively solid defensively in the group so far, keeping a clean sheet in three of their five games so far. However, the only concerning factor for them is that they conceded six of their seven let in during the group against Portugal in the reverse fixture.
The Portuguese have completely dominated Group J, scoring 15 goals so far without reply, with legend Cristiano Ronaldo netting five of those. Having looked at the stats, the overs goal market looks very tempting indeed. In the last five meetings between these two sides, there have been 20 goals scored, 19 of those by Portugal and that averages to a whopping 4 goals per game.
Iceland v Bosnia Herzegovina
It has been a mightily disappointing start to qualifying for both Iceland and Bosnia-Herzegovina and as they sit at the halfway point for the group stages, both countries will be aiming to overturn their fortunes and push towards qualifying for Euro 2024 next year.
Both of these sides have seen plenty of goals in the five goals they have played in the group so far. The hosts Iceland have scored nine and conceded nine, which is an average of 3.6 goals per game, showing their games are not without entertainment. The concerning fact for Iceland though, is that seven of those goals scored were against basement boys Liechtenstein. Games involving Bosnia-Herzegovina haven’t seen as many goals but still see entertainment as they have scored five and conceded, which averages out to 2.6 goals per game.
The reverse fixture between these two sides saw the Bosnians emerge 3-0 victors and they will be aiming to replicate a similar result in Monday’s fixture. Upon looking at the stats and given their head-to-head record, it seems as though a Double Chance bet could wind up being a sensible choice for a bet. On Paddy Power, a double chance bet in favour of the Bosnians currently sits at odds of 1.36 and could be a wise pick-up.
