PSG v Bayern Munich
Kick Off: Saturday 5th July at 17:00
Competition: FIFA Club World Cup
A heavyweight quarter-final tie sees the Champions League winners take on a Bayern Munich side who battled past Flamengo in the round of 16, eventually coming away 4-2 winners. PSG had a straightforward assignment against Inter Miami in their round of 16 game and managed to claim a 4-0 victory over the MLS side, further strengthening the argument for PSG to go on and lift the trophy.
This is certainly the tougher side of the draw, the winner of this quarter-final will set up a semi-final tie against either Real Madrid or Dortmund.

⭐ PSG v Bayern Munich Best Bets
Olise was pretty quiet in Bayern’s 4-2 win over Flamengo in the round of 16, but has been a bright spark during this tournament and across the season as a whole in his debut campaign for Bayern Munich. Olise has registered five goal contributions across his four appearances at the Club World Cup; he’s taken eight shots across these games (2.67 per 90) with five of these efforts finding the target (1.67 per 90).
Olise scored 12 goals across his 34 Bundesliga appearances during the 24/25 season, whilst averaging 3.30 shots per 90 and 1.38 shots on target per 90. His record is further convincing by his performances in the Champions League. Olise had 41 shots across his 14 appearances (3.57 per 90), with 13 of those attempts finding the target (1.13 per 90).
These sides faced off in the league phase of the Champions League back in October. Bayern ran out 1-0 winners on that occasion and had 18 shots, with seven of those attempts finding the target, producing an xG of 2.41. Olise came off the bench on that occasion and managed to find the target despite only being on the pitch for 18 minutes.

🔍 PSG v Bayern Munich Players to Watch
🔵 Achraf Hakimi
Hakimi was hauled down on four occasions when these sides met in the league phase of the Champions League back in October, the right back was fouled more times than any other player on the pitch on that occasion. Hakimi won 23 fouls across his 17 appearances in the Champions League during the 24/25 season (1.34 per 90) and averaged 1.09 fouls won per 90 in Ligue 1 during the most recent campaign. Hakimi’s foul won numbers across the season are really promising and his performance against the Bundesliga champions back in October would suggest that he will be in the thick of the action here.
🔴 Harry Kane
Harry Kane has now really settled at the Club World Cup with a brace against Flamengo last time out to secure Bayern Munich’s progression to the quarter-finals. He’s scored three goals at the Club World Cup so far, having also netted against Boca Juniors in the group stages. Kane netted 38 goals across his 46 appearances for Bayern Munich during the 24/25 regular season. Kane is also on penalties for Bayern, which can offer the England international another route to goal.

💻 PSG v Bayern Munich Form and Tactics
Both sides have had their shocks at the Club World Cup so far with PSG losing 1-0 to Botafogo in the group stages and Bayern failing to top their group, with Benfica pipping - leaving them on the tougher side of the draw. Fatigue will certainly be a factor here, as it has been throughout the tournament, both of these sides will have played more than 50 games by the time this competition has concluded so squad depth could be crucial in these final stages of the Club World Cup.
Bayern’s 4-2 win over Flamengo in the round of 16 was probably their best performance of the tournament so far, up against a Flamengo side that had managed to top their group and are currently sitting top of the Brazilian Serie A. Kane netted twice in that game but Vincent Kompany will still be a tad concerned with the defensive resilience of his backline, which is still battling with injuries and bedding in new signings like Jonathan Tah. PSG are far more likely to punish any indecision at the back than any other side that Bayern have faced so far.
The other problem that Bayern could encounter here is in the middle of the park, Kompany has been opting for a pairing of Leon Goretzka and Joshua Kimmich in central areas, but that duo could end up being overrun by PSG’s effective and energetic midfield trio of Joao Neves, Fabian Ruiz and Vitinha. PSG will certainly have more control of the ball in this part of the pitch which may make it difficult for Bayern to structure their attacks.
PSG have been flawless aside from their 1-0 defeat to Botafogo in the group stages which was a game in which they heavily rotated. Luis Enrique has managed to get his side to largely maintain their performance levels from the regular season. PSG were not really tested in their 4-0 win over Inter Miami in the round of 16 and also welcomed back Ousmane Dembele, who came off the bench and could be in for a start here.
