Sampdoria v Torino
🏟
Saturday 15th January – 2PM KO
Torino will be coming into Saturday’s match against Sampdoria full of confidence having beaten Fiorentina 4-0 in their previous Serie A fixture.
Despite that display of attacking talent from Josip Brekalo and Antonio Sanabria against La Viola, Ivan Juric’s side are likely to revert to type away at Sampdoria and attempt to win the game in the most efficient manner possible.
The Granata are the lowest scorers in the top half of the Serie A table this season having found the net 27 times. That’s five times less than Juventus who are the next lowest scorers. The reason they are up in ninth position is their solid defence, which is the third-best in the league.
Torino’s nature coupled with the poor form that Sampdoria find themselves in means this is likely to be a low-scoring affair that results in three points for the team from Turin.
Sampdoria sits 15th in Serie A and are at serious risk of being dragged closer to the relegation zone given they have failed to win in their last four matches. The Blucerchiati are just four points ahead of Cagliari who occupy the first relegation spot.
Two of the most intriguing attacking players from this fixture in Andrea Belotti and Mikkel Damsgaard will both be injured which further reduces the chance of a goal-laden fixture.

Salernitana v Lazio
🏟
Saturday 15th January – 5PM KO
Lazio has become an incredibly difficult team to predict this season as their form is extremely erratic. If there is any fixture they should win comfortably though, it’s against the league’s bottom side.
Salernitana has registered just 11 points so far this season from 19 Serie A fixtures, but they will be feeling slightly more confident than usual when they welcome Lazio to the Stadio Arechi on Saturday evening as they beat Hellas Verona 2-1 on their last outing.
That was their third victory of the season and they will want and need to build on that if they are to stand any chance of avoiding an immediate return to Serie B.
Despite being down in eighth place in the table, Lazio are the fourth-highest scorers in the division. This is the type of fixture where the likes of Ciro Immobile, Felipe Anderson, and Luis Alberto should be looking to fill their boots.
It will be a huge surprise if Maurizio Sarri’s side does not find the back of the Salernitana net in this match, but it is also worth noting that they have not kept a clean sheet in their last five matches and they will be without their most senior centre back, Francesco Acerbi, who picked up an injury in the recent 3-3 draw against Empoli. It is highly unlikely that Salernitana will get anything from the match, but it is not hard to envisage them profiting from a lapse of concentration at the back from the Biancocelesti

Juventus v Udinese
🏟
Saturday 15th January – 7:45PM KO
This is a fixture that many neutrals will not be building their Saturday evening around given neither team are known for their attacking flair or goal-filled matches.
Massimiliano Allegri has adopted an extremely pragmatic approach in his second spell in charge of Juventus and it means that the Bianconeri has managed just 32 goals so far this season, the second-lowest in the top half of the table.
The ACL injury suffered by Federico Chiesa recently also removes one of the few players in the Juve team capable of conjuring a goal out of nothing. The creative work will be left to Alvaro Morata, Paolo Dybala, and Dejan Kulusevski.
If Juve take the lead in this match they will almost certainly tighten up and protect what they have. They will not want a repeat of what happened in the first game of the season where they spurned a two-goal lead against Udinese in the second half to draw 2-2.
Udinese will be putting all of their goalscoring hopes in the hands of Beto who has been the shining light of their campaign so far. He has found the net eight times so far and if he strikes first, expect Udinese to adopt the same style as Juventus and do everything within their power to make sure that is the only goal of the game.
