Introduction
Slovakia are making their third Euros appearance in a row and come into a relatively open group, optimistic about their chances of qualification.
Although they have a rich history in the competition as part of Czechoslovakia, since becoming an independent nation, their best finish has been a Round of 16 knockout.

Tournament Prediction: Group Stage exit
You can back Slovakia to score 2 points in the Group Stage @ 8.50 on Paddy Power.
Given the relatively even nature of the group and Slovakia’s lack of goalscoring output, draws against Romania and Ukraine could be likely outcomes.
In the goalscorer markets, Lukáš HaraslĂn is a standout choice at 6.0 with Sky Bet, due to his xG per game and his high ratio of shots on target.
An outside choice at 11.0 would be Ondrej Duda, who scored twice in qualifying and will likely be Slovakia’s first-choice penalty taker.
Slovakia Euro 2024 Qualifying Data
đź“– How they qualified
The Slovaks finished second by some distance to Portugal in their qualifying group but dropped just one point to the rest of their opponents across the duration of a 10-match campaign.
They prefer to line up in a 4-3-3 formation and have scored 60% of their qualifying goals from long shots or resulting from set pieces.
Despite being outscored by Portugal, they took the most shots in their qualifying group.
đź‘• Players to watch
Dávid Hancko, one of two Feyenoord-based players in the squad, has had a fine season, with six goals for his club from his centre-back position. He also provided three assists, more than any other Slovakian player, in the qualifying rounds.
Partnering Hancko in defence will be Milan Škriniar. Now plying his trade with PSG, his vast experience will be critical to Slovakian hopes. He should be relatively fresh after some injury troubles earlier in the season, where he was out for almost three months. If he’s fit and firing, he’ll be a key asset to the team.
Stanislav Lobotka takes over the mantle of Marek Hamsik as Slovakia’s Napoli-based midfield stalwart. He’s been an ever-present in the side and will know the Slovakia coach very well, having worked with him previously in Naples earlier this season.
