Union Berlin v Borussia Dortmund
🏟
Sunday 13th February – 2:30 PM KO
Our Bundesliga Sunday action kicks off in the capital. Following last weekend’s disastrous 5-2 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund will be looking to right some wrongs with their trip to Union Berlin. However, the hosts will undoubtedly smell blood and be gearing up for all three points too. And that should mean lots of goals.
Unfortunately for Dortmund, the visitors will likely be without main goal threat Erling Haaland, but that should distract from the fact that Marco Rose’s side are still the second-highest scorers in the Bundesliga. And, most notably, tend to ship goals away from home too.
Indeed, in 10 away games in the Bundesliga this season, Dortmund have conceded no less than 18 goals, and 19 of their last 22 away matches in the German top-flight have ended in over 2.5 goals between both sides.
What undoubtedly adds to this is Union’s impressive home form this season, which has seen Urs Fischer’s side lose just one match from 10. And despite having an impressive defensive record in front of their own fans, Union’s home games have averaged 2.3 goals per game between both sides this season.
This match could very easily end up as a draw or a home win if Dortmund aren’t careful, but we can certainly expect goals from both sides in the capital on Sunday.

Hoffenheim v Arminia Bielefeld
🏟
Sunday 6th February – 4:30PM KO
Hoffenheim v Arminia Bielefeld was perhaps never a clash that got many but the most ardent Bundesliga fans excited and unfortunately, injuries on both sides may blunt an already dull affair on Sunday afternoon.
The home side will be without key playmaker and notable goalscorer Andrej Kramaric, who has been ruled out through a recent COVID infection. The Croatian forward has bagged five goals and eight assists this season and is undoubtedly the creative spark in this Hoffenheim team. As such, he’ll be a huge loss.
Similarly, the visitors will be without key winger Patrick Wimmer, who has been ruled out of the match through suspension, after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season in the previous league clash. The Austrian has picked up three goals and eight assists for Arminia this season and has been absolutely vital to their attacking threat.
When we couple such absences with the fact that seven of Arminia’s last eight away matches in the Bundesliga have ended in less than 2.5 goals and Hoffenheim’s recent form consisting of just one win in six, it certainly suggests Sunday’s clash will be a tight, low-scoring affair.
Rather than attempt to pick a winner from these two struggling teams, you would do far better expecting very few goals from either side.
