Spot On Soph to Win @ 6.50

SPOT ON SOPH (7.8) has finished inside the top three in six of her seven appearances this year, and given she runs well at Market Rasen, she needs to enter calculations today. Winning at Sedgefield in September over a further 2m4f trip, stamina won’t be a concern today racing over 2m2f, and considering she is a previous course and distance winner on good to soft ground, today’s contest presents a real opportunity to build on her second earlier this month. 

Finishing a respectable second behind Rockola Vogue last time out, who has won two of her last three  starts, Spot On Soph arguably progressed on that day, and with Tom Midgley returning with his 3lb claim,  the duo have seen success in the past. A partnership which consists of four rides and two wins; all four appearances together have come at Market Rasen, sporting results of; 1, 1, 4, 2.

Devon Skies to Win @ 3.75

Winless last year from six appearances when starting her career, DEVON SKIES (5.1) didn’t have the greatest of entries into her 2025 campaign either, but a change-up of running style makes her a big threat today. Racing in handicaps for the first time this year, Devon Skies pulled up in her first three starts when opting to race held up at the rear of the field. However, switching it up last time out here at Sedgefield, she was sent to the front by long-time rider Joe Williamson, in a performance that can’t go unnoticed.

Eased down towards the line with plenty of room to spare, Devon Skies won by an impressive 14 lengths  from the front, and the switch-up looks to have sparked major improvement. Racing out of Phillip Kirby’s yard who won this race last year, and considering she is due to go up a further 3lb in future races, today presents a real opportunity for her to land a quick-fire double.
