A five-year-old mare who clearly holds a lot of potential over fences given her latest performance, and although she is racing 10lb higher, this may not be enough to stop this improver. Racing under rules for the first time over hurdles in October last year, Princess Keri failed to make the placings in all four of her hurdles starts, but since making the switch to fences, she looks a top competitor.

Finishing fifth of eight on her chase debut before running away with a Class 5 affair over course and distance last time out, she made all and cruised to an easy 17-length victory. Clearly preferring to race over the larger obstacles and with further improvement likely to follow, she holds bold claims for landing a course and distance double today.

Rounding up Thursday’s free Racing Ratings tips, we are heading to Ripon for the 17:25, where we have OVERNIGHT OATS, coming in with a Racing Rating of 8.1. 

A five-year-old gelding who has won three of his nine appearances this year and is returning to turf for the first time after a successful all weather campaign. Although only seen racing at Ripon once in his career, Overnight Oats finished a close second on good ground and looks to be racing off a workable mark on his return today. 

Racing off 76, Overnight Oats has the help of 8lb claimer Mason Paetel in the saddle shedding some weight, and given there looks likely to be a strong pace set out in front by Garden Oasis, this race should set up nicely for the five-year-old in the latter stages, who prefers to come from off the pace and he should be a big threat at an appealing price.
