To start Wednesday off with our best bets and predictions, we have two box-office fixtures in the Norweigan Cup, with the headliner the Derby of the North between Bodø Glimt and Tromsø. The latter will be eager to get to the quarter-finals ahead of their rivals who have had the better of them over the past few years.
We then head to South America, where fixtures will spill into Thursday’s early hours, with action coming from Ecuador and the Argentinian capital. We have the 6th and final group fixtures coming your way, with Independiente del Valle and Argentinos Jrs already through but vying for the top spot, and Nublense needing a big win and other fixtures to go their way if they are to qualify.
Our League Scouts are still hard at work, finding all of the best betting tips across all the football being played on Wednesday.

Independiente del Valle v Argentinos Jrs
Both the Ecuadorian and Argentinian clubs are through to the round of 16, but with the home side needing all three points to top Group E, there’s plenty on the line in this encounter.
Last time out, Independiente del Valle hammered Corinthians 3-0, while Argentinos Jrs just got over the line at home to Liverpool Montevideo, thanks to a 95th minute goal from Lucas Villalba.
Although Argentinos Jrs remain unbeaten on the road, IDV have won both of their home matches without conceding. The Argentine club drew 2-2 and showed frailties in their defence when the club travelled to Uruguay to face Liverpool and face a much stronger side in their final group match.
With forward Michael Hoyos hitting his stride with a brace against Corinthians, his goalscoring prowess could get IDV over the line, especially for a club with a fine home record this season. A home win is the way to go in this one.
Racing Club v Nublense
Racing are aware that a point may secure the top spot if Flamengo don’t beat Aucas by a two-goal margin. However, the Argentina club will feel confident in front of their supporters at home, having already drawn with current champions Flamengo and defeated Aucas, putting three past them in the process.
Nublense, on the other hand, have yet to score away from home. Although Flamengo defeated them 2-0 and barely got out of second gear, the Chilean outfit did manage to frustrate Aucas and came away with a valuable point in a 0-0 draw.
However, they haven’t scored on the road and with Racing looking to secure top spot, that doesn’t look likely to change. It’s also worth pointing out that Nublense have only had three shots on target across their two away matches in the Libertadores and while Racing haven’t kept a clean sheet at home yet, Nublense are by far the weakest side in Group A.
Raufoss v Viking
Here we have an OBOS Ligaen vs Eliteserien matchup as Raufoss welcome 2019 Norwegian Cup champions Viking into town. This should be a fixture where Viking’s extra quality and class make the difference. The away side have been performing slightly better this season than most expected. They head into this match on the back of an excellent and morale boosting victory 3-1 vs local rivals Brann at the weekend. Viking pack a heavy hitting attacking punch, with the likes of Zlatko Tripic and Lars Jorgen Salvesen upfront. They have an average xG of 1.84 per match in the Eliteserien, so should be able to eat up an OBOS Ligaen defence.
Raufoss are situated in 13th place and are hovering just above the OBOS Ligaen relegation zone. League positions can mean nothing in domestic cups, and they will be fired up for this match, but realistically they are one of the poorer slides in the second tier. They are the lowest scoring team in the OBOS netting just 11 goals in 13 games, so it’s hard to see how they can really hurt Viking. The Norwegian Cup is a competition which means a lot to Viking, having won it 4 years ago and they have just seen one of their big rivals Brann win the most recent version of it last month. They certainly won’t lack motivation even though they are facing lower league opponents.
Taking goals in Viking matches is usually a good idea but Raufoss have the 2nd most under 2.5 games in the OBOS Ligaen. They lack offensive weapons but have only conceded 12 goals in 13 games and have the 4th best average xGA of any team in the OBOS (1.30). It is likely they will sit back and make themselves hard to break down. Viking have a lot of individual quality to find a way through though and a 0-1 or 0-2 scoreline are very possible. Taking the visitors at 1.44 to win looks like a safe bet because they ultimately just have a lot more quality.
Bodø Glimt v Tromsø
The big match in this round of Norwegian Cup fixtures is the Derby of the North between Bodø Glimt and Tromsø. The current top two teams in the Eliteserien table do battle at Aspmyra Stadion with a place in the quarter-finals at stake. This is a huge game of football between two rivals who aren’t the greatest fans of each other. Tromsø have had to suffer being in the shadow of Glimt in recent years. Whilst celebrating their own title-winning OBOS Ligaen campaign, they watched Glimt rack up consecutive Eliteserien titles. There is a sense that Tromso also want to become relevant, and they would love to lift some silverware by winning this Norwegian Cup.
Bodø Glimt have won 10 out of 12 league games this season and have been in imperious form. They’ve racked up an impressive 32 goals and have a lot of quality in their side, such as Amahl Pellegrino, the star player. Glimt will soon be losing Joel Mvuka to French side Lorient who bought him in January. This will be his last game for the club so he will want to go out with a bang. Another player who will probably feature for the last time is Hugo Vetlesen because he has an imminent move to Belgian side Club Brugge. He will be another fired-up to produce a strong performance.
Glimt have won 6 of the last 8 competitive meetings and there is a strong history of goals when these two teams play each other. 7 of the last 8 H2Hs have resulted in over 2.5 goals with both teams scoring in 6 of those contests. This is no coincidence because this match means so much to both teams that they will give it everything to outscore the other. Tromsø are not helped by the potential injuries to main keeper Jakob Haugaard and defenders Lasse Nilsen and Kent Are Antonsen. They will have to fight fire with fire and over 2.5 goals stand out at 1.44 as an obvious bet. There should be a lot of offensive action and the goals should flow.
