Caernarfon Town vs Cardiff Metropolitan University
🏟
Saturday 27th August – 2:30PM KO
Caernarfon did get their first win of the season in their last match against Pontypridd but are still yet to show much attacking quality. Their first goal in that 2-0 win came after a combination of comical errors from the Pontypridd defenders and the second goal can also be explained by questionable defending. While Caernarfon were more dominant in this game, in their other match this season against Haverfordwest they were utterly dominated, they only had 1 shot to Haverfordwest’s 14 shots.
Cardiff Met have started the season very strongly and their 4-0 win away to Aberystwyth last weekend was a complete performance where they only allowed Aberystwyth 2 shots, with none of those on target. Cardiff Met’s first game also saw them impressively beat Connah’s Quay, who have won the league twice in the last 3 years and new manager Ryan Jenkins is really getting improved performances out of these players. Cardiff Met have looked so strong from crosses already this season, Sam Jones scored from 2 crosses in their last match against Aberystwyth. Caernarfon have been very poor from set pieces and generally crosses into the box have been a weak point for the team so far and this could be the difference in this match.
In this match Cardiff Met should have too much quality for Caernarfon so I will be suggesting a draw no bet, giving a safety net in case the 8 hour round trip up north is too much for Cardiff Met to claim the win.

Penybont vs Flint Town
🏟
Saturday 27th August – 2:30PM KO
Penybont face Flint Town in what looks to be an even match. Penybont lost to TNS 1-0 last week but did beat Bala Town 2-0 in the first match of the season which is a pair of results they will be very happy with. Flint Town fans will also be happy, a 2-0 and a 1-0 win so far, yet to concede and second in the table.
Both these teams are defensively strong, TNS, the dominant team of the league, only got one past Penybont and apart from that goal, neither team has conceded yet this season. In the last 7 matches between the teams, there has only been over 3.5 goals once and 4 of the other 6 matches saw under 2.5 goals. In their last 8 matches in the Cymru premier, Flint matches have had over 3.5 goals just once, in a 7-0 loss to TNS. In Penybont’s last 9 Cymru Premier matches they have only had over 3.5 goals twice and they were in a 3-2 loss to TNS as well as a huge 11-0 loss to Bala Town.
The only times these teams are involved in matches with over 3.5 goals is where one team is far better than the other, whereas in this match it will be a close matchup where I do not expect many goals. For this reason, I am picking under 3.5 goals for this match.
