1️⃣ Wimbledon Day 8 Super Single

Fixtures for: Monday 7th July

Jannik Sinner v Grigor Dimitrov

Wimbledon

16:40

Under 30.5 Games

We are setting up for another Jannik Sinner masterclass in this fourth-round clash.

Whilst this is clearly Sinner's most difficult task to date, one cannot fail but be impressed with what he has done so far this week. It took 25 games to beat Luca Nardi, 23 against Alexander Vukic, and 23 against Pedro Martinez.

Dimitrov is a step up from any of those players, but a look through the H2H with Sinner and confidence must drain from the Bulgarian. He has lost the last four against Sinner, taking one set in those matches.

Their most recent meeting was a French Open quarter-final in 2024. That one was a straight sets win for Sinner, though the 6-2 6-4 7-6 scoreline did push it to 31 games. If this match is won in straight sets without any tiebreaks, then it should win.

Fixtures for: Monday 7th July

Liudmila Samsonova v Jessica Bouzas Maneiro

Wimbledon

12:40

Liudmila Samsonova to Win

This is the first time that Bouzas Maneiro has reached the second week of a Grand Slam, but there is no doubt the Spaniard has deserved it with impressive wins over Sofia Kenin and Dayana Yastremska.

However, this is a new level for her with Liudmila Samsonova a proven grass court player. Two of Samsonova's five WTA titles have come on grass, and this is her second visit to the second week of Wimbledon, so this is a player who is well-versed in how to play on the surface.

These women haven't met before on tour so there is no form guide there, but Samsonova's Berlin run where she took out Naomi Osaka, Jessica Pegula, and current Wimbledon quarter-finalist Amanda Anisimova is very striking and demonstrates the level of form that Samsonova brings to this clash.

Ekaterina Alexandrova v Belinda Bencic

Wimbledon

13:00

Ekaterina Alexandrova to Win

Belinda Bencic's fight, determination, and courage under pressure cannot be doubted. The Swiss has had to battle in each of her last two matches, especially in the third round against Elisabetta Cocciaretto where a match tiebreak separated the players in the end.

Alexandrova has had a much more straightforward run, winning all of her matches in straight sets and looking great in doing so. Undoubtedly, this will be her most difficult test so far.

However, this pair did meet on the grass in a warm-up event in Bad Homburg the week before Wimbledon and Alexandrova ran out an easy 6-1 6-2 winner. Whilst it is unlikely to be as easy again, there is a lot of form to turn around there for Bencic. Overall, they are 4-4 in their H2H record, with Alexandrova edging it 2-1 on grass.

Alex de Minaur v Novak Djokovic

Wimbledon

13:30

Novak Djokovic to Win

This is the match that we were denied last Wimbledon. Alex de Minaur got injured last year ahead of this clash, but one has to fear that the end result is going to be the same regardless.

Djokovic is looking supremely confident and is playing about as well as he can do at this stage of his career. That level is still potentially good enough to win the title here, that is yet to be seen but it is certainly a level above what most players are capable of resisting.

De Minaur has definitely made big strides in his game over the last couple of years but he still lacks the weapons to hurt Djokovic.

This will be their first meeting on grass, and De Minaur does hold a win over Djokovic, but this was in the United Cup. Djokovic beat him 3-0 and 2-0 in tour play, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see a straight-sets win again here.

Mirra Andreeva v Emma Navarro

Wimbledon

15:10

Mirra Andreeva to Win

There is no doubt which of these players has the higher potential ceiling, Andreeva is already a WTA1000 champion and a Grand Slam semi-finalist as a teenager.

Navarro has improved considerably in the last couple of years and is a great match player and street fighter, but Andreeva keeps so many balls in and continues to ask questions of her opponent, even on this surface, that she is a deserved favourite here.

Andreeva beat Navarro convincingly in their only previous tour meeting, albeit in completely different conditions in Cincinnati, but this is another feather in her cap here.

As much as anything at this stage of the tournament it can be about mentality, and whilst Navarro does have a strong mentality, the way that Andreeva approaches her tennis gives complete confidence that she can go out there and play well. If she plays well, then she should win.
