Level 1 Bet Builder Tip

Charlton to Win

Odds: 2.15

It appeared that Wycombe were quite happy with a draw in the first leg, despite being the home team. Towards the end of that clash they slowed the game down, so they must be very confident going to The Valley. What dampens their prospects is knowing how strong Charlton are in front of their own supporters. Nathan Jones’ side are unbeaten in 15 here, of which 12 were wins. In addition to this, a 53.33% clean sheet success rate is also nothing to be ashamed of.

Those of a Wycombe persuasion may argue that they hold the 2nd-best away record in League One, which would be fair. However, their record v the top-four this season (Charlton finished 4th) was abysmal. They played eight times over the campaign against Birmingham, Wrexham, Stockport and Charlton, losing seven. This proves they just aren’t quite to that level, meaning Charlton will really fancy their chances of applying significant dominance to eventually break the deadlock.

The first leg was a close affair but the Addicks looked to be the side looking to win the game more. Wycombe may end up relying on set pieces but the hosts will be more than used to teams being defensive against them at home, and in 2025 they have had no real issue in defeating these kinds of opponents.

Josh Edwards - Over 0.5 Shots ↔️

Odds: 2.37

Josh Edwards is a left back, but he has proved over the season that he is capable of having an impact as a goal threat. Some of his statistics over the campaign make for quite surprising reading given he is anything but a prolific scorer. Edwards has only had shots in nine league clashes but in four he recorded a minimum of two shots. It appears he isn’t afraid to try his luck in tight games and, based on the first leg, this second leg may also fall that way.

He had a shot in that first leg at Wycombe a few days ago. Now playing at home, he should have a greater licence to get into more advanced areas, which increases his prospects of striking from distance. Wycombe defend their box very well, so the home side are going to need to explore all angles to try and test the goalkeeper.

Level 2 Bet Builder Tip

Matt Godden - Over 0.5 Shots on Target ↔️

Odds: 1.40

If Charlton are to progress to the Wembley final, then they will be firmly looking in the direction of their top scorer, Matt Godden, to have a significant impact. The former Coventry City man is also one of the highest-scorers in the division and is in fine recent form after netting eight times in his last 11 appearances.

The 33-year-old has been consistently registering shots on target for a little while now. It is almost taken for granted. The forward has done exactly that in each and every one of his last nine matches, including two in the 0-0 first leg draw at Wycombe. He also did the same when the two clubs met in a league encounter last month, where Godden scored and again hit two on target.

The former Coventry man has 18 league goals to his name, with the next closest being his team-mate, Tyreece Campbell, on seven. That stat alone reflects how key and reliant Charlton are as a whole on Godden to find the back of the net. Working the ball into him in the final third is their best hope of progression, so he should extend his streak and finding the target at least once.

Sonny Bradley - Over 0.5 Shots ↔️

Odds: 2.0

The experienced centre back linked up with the club on a loan deal from Derby in January and it has proved to be a clever signing by Mike Dodds. Sonny Bradley offers a presence in both penalty boxes, which is often a handy trait for any player in this position to have.

The 33-year-old is very commanding aerially, meaning he is often the target on set pieces. This is proved by the fact that across Bradley’s last 13 games, he has had shots in eight of them.

Cameron Humphreys - Over 1.5 Shots ↔️

Odds: 2.62

It was something of a coup when Wycombe managed to snap up Cameron Humphreys on a season-long loan from Ipswich. There is a strong argument that he could and should be playing in the Championship. Still, he has embraced his time in Buckinghamshire, so much so he is their third-highest league scorer. Also, only their far and away top scorer Richard Kone has recorded more shots than the attacking midfielder, so he certainly isn’t afraid to have a go.

Humphreys is one of the more technically gifted players over the Chairboys roster. He is comfortable on the ball and can utilise that to work his way into shooting positions. Although he has not had a shot in each of his last two games, that is a rarity based on his recent form. That is because, prior to the previous two, Humphreys had at least one shot in 17 of 18 appearances. If his team are to progress here inside 90 minutes they’ll need to score and getting the tricky attacker on the ball in advanced areas will boost those prospects.

Humphreys has had two or more shots in three of his last four away appearances and bet365 are comfortably the best price on the market for this selection.
