GULYA was an unfortunate second in a warm-looking Ascot novice event over a mile last month. The Night Of Thunder filly was short of room continuously, against the rail, in the final couple of furlongs, prior to seeing daylight far too late. She was an agonising second, clearly displaying a huge amount of potential - just like she showed on debut last season. Despite this deep field of unexposed fillies, the Coronation Stakes entrant is selected to improve enough to take this valuable prize.

BOWMARK looks a rock solid selection for John & Thady Gosden after winning in impressive style on debut at Kempton, before being narrowly beaten in a Listed race last month. Given Crown Of Oaks' admission from this race, Bowmark has little to beat on paper and it'd be a surprise if he didn't win.

TONY MONTANA brings good course form to this tightly-knit handicap on the Knavesmire. The consistent Michael Bell-trained five-year-old ran into the frame in a pair of strong, big-field handicaps here and Goodwood last term, and should be able to build on a promising second on reappearance behind an unexposed type.

EPIC POET is the most likely to run his race, in this tough-to-decipher G2 Yorkshire Cup. Likely favourite Rebel’s Romance has to prove he stays this trip, while Sweet William is returning from an absence, over a journey short of his best. Continuous may improve in first-time blinkers but is inconsistent, and Alsakib needs a career-best to figure. The selection arrives after an excellent spell in the Middle East and has scope for further improvement, for a trainer and jockey combination who thrive at this venue.

ELOUISE’S PRINCE is one of a whole host of lightly-raced individuals, competing in a tricky sprint handicap. He has improved markedly since a quiet debut, winning both all-weather starts impressively (making all). It would be folly to dismiss his claims on handicap debut, especially given the fact that the form is working out well - there have been three subsequent winners from the second success at Wolverhampton.

DELICACY improved for the switch of stables, when winning with something to spare at Leicester over 7f. A 5lb penalty for this win may underestimate his chance here, with the distinct possibility of further progress under this handler. His rider, Sam James, arrives in excellent form, having ridden six winners in the previous fortnight, from 23 rides (26% strike-rate).
