An intriguing encounter awaits on Tuesday night at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy, between Lille and Juventus, who have both won two and lost one during their Champions League campaigns so far.
The French sides’ wins are somewhat more impressive, having defeated holders Real Madrid 1-0 on matchday two, before travelling to Madrid’s city rivals Atletico and beating them 1-3. They lost their opening game to Sporting Lisbon 2-0.
Juventus’ have recorded victories over PSV Eindhoven and RB Leipzig, scoring three in each, but lost by a solitary goal at home to VfB Stuttgart on matchday three.
⭐ Lille v Juventus Best Bets
It’s hard not to be impressed when you see that Lille have already seen off Real and Atletico Madrid in this season’s Champions League.
They’re the underdogs in this contest, and that is probably because the stats for those wins suggest that they were fortunate to come away with three points, conceding over 2 xG in both.
Understandably that is of slight come concern, but the same can be said of Juventus, who likely don’t surpass either of those two sides in quality. They only managed one shot on target against Stuttgart in Europe last time out, whilst the German side took 22 shots at an xG of 2.52.
Against Leipzig, they conceded 24 shots at an xG of 3.37, although it must be said that the majority of those came after Juve had been reduced to ten men, but even 11 v 11 it was an even game.
By those figures and form, Lille have a good chance of winning this game.

🔍 Lille v Juventus Players to Watch
🔴 Jonathan David
The Canadian forward has scored ten goals in 13 appearances in all competitions so far this season, with three assists, and is in good form with four goals in his last three games.
He is also Lille’s penalty taker, having already scored two in the Champions League this season. He averages around three shots per 90 in all competitions, so he should have a few opportunities to score here.
⚪️ Teun Koopmeiners
Koopmeiners enjoyed success in Europe last year, winning the Europa League with Atalanta, before moving to Juventus in the summer.
The advanced midfield player scored 15 goals in all competitions last season but has failed to find the net so far for his new side.
In the 2023/24 Europa League campaign, Koopmeiners averaged 2.06 fouls per 90, and in Europe this season he is averaging 3 fouls per 90.

💻 Lille v Juventus Form and Tactics
Les Dogues favour a 4-2-3-1 formation, with Canadian attacker Jonathan David their main goal threat. He has scored seven goals in Ligue 1 so far this season, and three goals in the Champions League.
Their squad also boasts England’s Angel Gomes, recently given a chance to impress during Lee Carsley’s interim spell, although his minutes in Europe have been limited so far.
Lille are currently unbeaten in eight games across all competitions, and manager Bruno Genesio will fancy his chances of continuing that run here. They currently sit in fourth position in their domestic table
The overused cliché when discussing Italian teams is that they don’t conceded many goals, but in the case of The Old Lady of Italian football, this has certainly been true in Serie A. Through 11 games, Juventus have kept a clean sheet on eight occasions. They have only conceded a total of seven goals, but they have all occurred in their last five league games. Juventus are currently fifth in the Serie A table, but FotMobs xG table ranks them as the second-best side in the division.
Dusan Vlahovic will be hoping to add to his eight goals in all competitions, whilst they boast exciting wide options in Conceicao, Weah, and Yildiz. Manuel Locatelli holds the side together in the middle of the park.
They’re a patient, possession-based side, who look to dominate the ball and will also line up in a 4-2-3-1 formation.
