Como have started the season really well after a brilliant campaign last year, which earned them a spot in the Champions League.

Como have avoided defeat in all three of their matches in Serie A so far this season, winning two of these games and scoring seven goals in the process.

They take on a Leipzig side that are in a transition period under Martin Demichelis and are a bit of an unknown heading into the campaign, but do look pretty well matched with Como on paper.

Como only lost three of their 19 home games in Serie A last season, showing how difficult it came be for Fabregas’ side to be beaten on home soil. Only Juventus, Napoli and Inter lost fewer games at home than Como in Serie A last season.

PSV kick off their Champions League campaign against a Shakhtar side who will find it difficult to earn a result against a PSV outift who have been dominant at home under Peter Bosz during his tenure.

PSV come into this game having won each of their last four matches across all competitions, notably beating Ajax 3-1 on the road last time out. 

They only lost two of their 17 home games in the Eredivisie last season - scoring 58 goals across these games (3.41 per game), more than any other side in the division.

Shakhtar competed in the Conference League last season and were knocked out in the semi finals by Crystal Palace, who went on to win the competition. 

I don’t think they’re quite ready enough to be competitive in the Champions League this term and PSV should be able to get off to a strong start with more difficult tests to come for the home side.

This should be a really exciting game with Como contesting their first ever game in the Champions League after impressing in Serie A last season.

Como have started the season well too, avoiding defeat in each of their opening three games - including a win over Napoli on the road which was particularly impressive. 

Como have seen BTTS in all three of these matches, perhaps suggesting that there is a bit of a defensive vulnerability about Fabregas’ side at this level. 

Leipzig saw BTTS last time out as they fell to a 3-1 defeat to Werder Bremen on the road. They’re in a transitional period at the moment having appointed Martin Demichelis as head coach over the summer.

Roma have become a completely different side under Gian Piero Gasperini, and their games have been a lot more fun to watch as a result.

Gasperini is one of the most underrated coaches across Europe, he did an excellent job at Atalanta which earned him this role at Roma and he’s particularly good at getting the most out of his forward players - with the most recent example being the brilliant form of Donyell Malen.

Fenerbahce are quite a hard side to beat at home. They’ve seen BTTS in four of their last five matches, and had to come through a testing qualifying campaign to reach the Champions League. 

Fenerbahce scored 40 goals at home last season domestically, only the eventual champions in Galatasaray (46) scored more goals at home in the Super Lig than Fenerbahce last term. 

PSV are always a very exciting team to watch and that should continue in the Champions League this season with Peter Bosz’s side opening their campaign against a Shakhtar side who crashed out of the Conference League in the semi finals last season. 

PSV have seen BTTS in each of their last five matches, but have impressively managed to win four of these games and avoid defeat in the other. This is Peter Bosz’ style as a coach, he trusts his PSV to try and outscore most opposition sides and that approach does often lead to gaps at the back.

Shakhtar have quite a lot of European experience having competed in one of the three competitions quite often across recent campaigns. They saw BTTS last time out, as they claimed a 2-1 win over Karpaty on the road.

It’s very rare to see a side that have avoided defeat in their last 20 matches, and scored in each of those games, priced as real outsiders but that’s the case with Bodo Glimt here.

It’s understandable that Bayern are heavy favourites here given their incredible home record under Kompany - but i’m willing to back Bodo to get on the scoresheet given their recent form and performances in the Champions League last season.

BTTS is a much more appealing price at 1.67 rather than testing high goal lines. Bayern may well put three or four goals past Bodo, but the away side carry a really notable threat in transition to get on the scoresheet.

If Bayern are dominant, there is every chance that Kompany decides to switch out some of his key players later in the game which could allow Bodo an avenue to grab a consolation.

This looks like quite an even tie on paper with neither side seen as clear favourites to come out on top.

Lens enjoyed a really strong season last year, finishing second behind PSG and leading the division for large portions of the campaign. They also beat PSG in the French Super Cup at the start of the season. 

Lens have seen BTTS in two of their three games in Ligue 1 so far this season and will struggle at times with this Slavia Prague side who have scored in each of their last 11 matches across all competitions.

The home side have had some defensive issues over recent weeks as well, seeing BTTS in three of their last five matches. With no clear favourite and both sides expected to feel as though they can get off to a strong start in the Champions League, goals look likely at both ends.

Man United recorded eight corners during their 5-2 victory over Ipswich, which was their only home match of the campaign so far. Carrick’s men also registered 33 shots in that fixture, and they should be able to exert a similar level of control against Sabah here. 

Man United had an average of 4.76 corners per game in the Premier League last season, rising to 5.26 when playing away. They also had an uptick in corners after Carrick took over from Ruben Amorim. Sabah are likely to defend with plenty of players behind the ball, inviting United to attack through the wide areas, which naturally increases the likelihood of corners.
