We are now seven games into the 24/25 Premier League season, and with that comes a decent sample size for player and team stats.
Who has the most cards in the Premier League this season? Who has committed the most fouls in the Premier League this season? These are all important questions when placing your potential bets.
Below, we will break down the Premier League players and teams that top the division for certain metrics, which will allow you to get a better idea of value bet builder tips when placing your weekly selections.
🎯 Shots on Target: Erling Haaland (Man City)
This shouldn’t come as a surprise given the proven pedigree Haaland has produced since arriving in the Premier League.
The Norwegian already leads the race for the Golden Boot, notching up an impressive ten goals in just six outings for City this season.
Haaland has averaged an astonishing 3.15 shots on target per 90 in the league this season. To put that into context, the next best is Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, averaging an impressive 1.94 shots per target per 90.
🛑 Fouls Committed: Justin Kluivert (Bournemouth)
Perhaps a surprising table topper in the fouls-committed market, Bournemouth’s Justin Kluivert has proven to be a thorn in the side of the opposition when it comes to halting attacks.
The Dutch international is averaging a whopping 3.49 fouls per 90 in the Premier League this season, compared to his 2.44 fouls per 90 average from last season.
If in a predicted lineup, Kluivert could very well be a shrewd addition to a potential bet builder in the fouls market.
🩹 Fouled: Jordan Ayew (Leicester)
Ghanaian Jordan Ayew is a familiar name in the fouls market for Premier League fans for his tenure at Crystal Palace.
Ayew currently tops the fouled metrics so far in the Premier League this season, drawing 4.50 fouls per 90 to date.
Compare this to his average of 3.32 last season, and it’s clear Ayew is one to always look for in the fouled market.
🧤 GK Saves: Mark Flekken (Brentford)
Dutch shot-stopper Mark Flekken has been the busiest of all goalkeepers in the Premier League this season, with an average of 4.71 saves per 90.
Mads Hermansen of Leicester also equals this metric of 4.71 saves per 90, however, this is boosted by some outlier performances, including Leicester’s 4-2 loss against Arsenal where the former Danish U21 international made an astonishing 13 saves in the outing at The Emirates.
🟨 Yellow Cards: Declan Rice (Arsenal)
England international Declan Rice may not top the Premier League stats table for yellow cards received, but he does average more yellow cards per 90 than any other player.
Rice was controversially sent off in Arsenal’s draw against Brighton back in August, receiving two yellows taking his total tally per 90 in the Premier League this season to 0.73.
⚽🤝 Goals & Assists: Cole Palmer (Chelsea)
A table-topper that shouldn’t come as a surprise to many. Cole Palmer has perhaps been the league’s best player since joining Chelsea last season.
With six goals and five assists to his name this season in the Premier League, Palmer is averaging 1.67 goals or assists per 90 in the Premier League this season.
Unsurprisingly Erling Haaland sits second in this list with 1.43 goals or assists per 90 being the Premier League top scorer this season so far, highlighting just how crucial Palmer has been for his side since signing.
⚽ Team Goals: Man City
This will certainly not come as a shock. The team who have won four in a row have also so far been the Premier League’s top scorers this season.
Pep Guardiola’s side average 2.43 goals per 90 in the Premier League this season, with Chelsea not too far behind averaging 2.29 goals per 90.
A lot of this can be owed to the goalscoring prowess of Erling Haaland, however, even through injury, City last season proved they can go all the way without their Norwegian talisman.
🎯 Team Shots on Target: Man City
Again this is almost self-explanatory, given City’s dominance over the league these past few years.
Guardiola’s side average 6.86 shots on target per 90 in the Premier League, with Arsenal and Spurs in tied second averaging 6.57 shots on target per 90 each respectively.
🚩 Team Corners: Tottenham
Ange Postecoglu’s Spurs are this season’s table-toppers when it comes to corners in the Premier League.
Tottenham are currently averaging a whopping 9.0 corners per 90 in the league this season, which may come as a surprise given how reliant their arch-rivals Arsenal have been from set-pieces.
The Gunners themselves currently rank third in the table, averaging 7.14 corners per 90.
🛑 Team Fouls Committed: Wolves
Currently sat at the foot of the Premier League table, Gary O’Neil’s Wolves have had a rough start.
With only a solitary point to their name, they top the league for fouls committed so far, averaging 14.86 fouls committed per 90 in the Premier League this season.
It should be noted they have had a difficult fixture list so far at the time of writing, having already played Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Newcastle, and Aston Villa, meaning these averages may dip when they come up against less-talented opposition.
🩹 Team Fouled: Newcastle
Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United have so far drawn the most fouls in the Premier League this season.
The Magpies are drawing an average of 14.57 fouls per 90 in the Premier League this season, with Aston Villa second on the list with 13.57.
🟨 Team Cards: Chelsea
Chelsea have the unfavourable stat of picking up the most cautions per 90 in the Premier League so far this season.
With an average of 3.86 cards per 90, Enzo Maresca’s side have proven they are willing to get stuck-in, in a bid to improve on their disappointing 6th-placed finish last season.
