Quality game in the Bundesliga on Wednesday evening for a Bet Builder as M’Gladbach host Frankfurt with neither side enjoying particularly productive league campaigns by their standards. The hosts suffered yet another heavy defeat at the weekend, going down 4-1 to RB Leipzig, which followed on from an embarrassing 6-0 defeat at home to Freiburg.
As for Frankfurt, well they look to be recovering after a slow start to the season and registered a fine 4-2 win over an in-form Leverkusen at the weekend to make it 4 wins from their last 5 Bundesliga games. They are now just 2 points off the European places which is much more what you would expect from a Frankfurt side stacked with quality. As ever, below are my three favourite Bet Builder Tips & predictions for the game on Wednesday evening alongside my trusty Cheat Sheet. Good luck!!
B M’Gladbach v Frankfurt Bet Builder Tips
Over 2.5 goals
Goals look a real certainty in this one, especially when you consider how defensively poor the hosts have been looking in recent weeks. They’ve now conceded a total of 14 across their previous three games, hinting at severe flaws in the backline and the overall setup. No doubt Adi Hutter is under enormous pressure and they won’t be looking forward to the visit of a Frankfurt side full of attacking quality.
Granted, the visitors started the season slowly but are now really starting to hit top gear and look much like their normal selves. After finding the back of the net on 25 occasions in their last 13 games though, Glasner and his side have pulled away from the relegation places and climbed the table rapidly in recent weeks. All the big guns are fit including the mightily impressive Filip Kostic and I fancy them to cause Gladbach all sorts of problems.
Filip Kostic Anytime Assist
Now Gladbach are hardly the most defensively stable at the moment and I fancy the in-form Filip Kostic to have a real field day on Wednesday night. Kostic is Frankfurt’s most creative outlet this season with three goals and nine assists in all competitions and is being heavily linked with a move to Italian giants Inter Milan such is his quality.
He will be directly up against young American fullback Joe Scally who like his team is undergoing a bit of a slump in form. The Serbian international has now been nicknamed the assist-meister at the club and with nine assists in just 19 games you can begin to see why. His record of 57 assists in just 146 games for the club is an exceptional record and I strongly fancy him to do the business against a defensively unstable Gladbach side.
Rafael Borre 1 + Shots on Target
We finish with a shot on target and given the defensive woes of the hosts and the fluency Frankfurt are attacking with at the moment means I had to opt for an away player. Rafael Borre made a relatively slow start to his Frankfurt career having signed in the summer from River Plate, especially as he was the man brought in to replace the free-scoring Andre Silva who left for Leipzig in the summer.
Recent signs are positive though and Frankfurt fans like his work ethic and clear desire to succeed in Germany. A goal and an assist in his last two league games prove he arrives in good form and his Cheat Sheet stats are one of the more impressive of any player from either squad. He looks the best option to do the business in this one and he is of reasonable value with the bookmakers too!
