📈 Sevilla v Barcelona Form & Tactics
Sevilla have had the whole week to rest and prepare for this match, and they come into this clash having just beaten Rayo Vallecano 1-0. It was a late goal from Akor Adams which secured the points for the visitors, in what was a smash and grab victory. Vallecano racked up 1.89 xG from 18 shots, but failed to score. Meanwhile, Sevilla registered just four shots in total, but were more clinical with their chances.
After back-to-back losses to start the season, Sevilla have lost just one of their last five, looking much more confident than they did in the previous campaign.
In a tightly-contested midweek affair between the Spanish champions and the French champions, it was the Parisians who secured the spoils with a 90th-minute winner from Goncalo Ramos. Ferran Torres opened the scoring for the hosts after just 19 minutes, but PSG fought back, and equalised through Senny Mayulu just before half time.
Considering the visitors were without the likes of Ousmane Dembele, Kvicha Kvaratskhelia and Joao Neves, Barcelona would have fancied their chances, but they succumbed to their first loss of the campaign.
📔 Sevilla v Barcelona Formation & Team News
Sevilla
Akor Adams scored his first goal of the season against Vallecano last time out, and will be pushing for a return to the starting XI, hoping to replace Isaac Romero. Adnan Januzaj was an injury doubt for that game last weekend, but did appear off the bench. However, Alexis Sanchez and Ruben Vargas are likely to retain their places in the forward line.
Matias Almeyda is fortunate to only have a small injury list to contend with, meaning he is likely to stick with the same XI that secured Sevilla’s third win of the season last weekend.
Barcelona
Wojciech Szczesny is the only realistic option for Hansi Flick in between the sticks, with Joan Garcia and Marc-Andre ter Stegen both ruled out. After a tough midweek game, the German manager could opt for some rotation this weekend, with Robert Lewandowski likely to replace Ferran Torres upfront. With injuries to Fermin Lopez and Raphinha, Barcelona should stick with Marcus Rashford, Dani Olmo and Lamine Yamal on Sunday.
