Bodo/Glimt v Rosenborg
Kick Off: Saturday 24th May at 17:00
Competition: Norwegian Eliteserien
Rosenborg are the only remaining unbeaten side in the Eliteserien
Bodo Glimt have lost four consecutive games in all competitions
Rosenborg have a brilliant defensive record with only 2 goals conceded
There have been 4 draws in the last 8 H2H meetings
Two of the biggest names in Norwegian football meet at Aspmyra Stadion where defending champions Bodo Glimt are looking to bounce back after a poor recent run of form. Glimt have lost their last 4 games in all competitions and now face an unbeaten Rosenborg side who have conceded no goals from open play since the opening day of the season.
Despite this, Bodo Glimt are around 1.65 favourites to win with BTTS yes priced around 1.75. Over 2.5 goals is also the favourite at 1.73. Several stats and trends are perhaps suggesting the opposite outcomes but a lot will depend on which version of Bodo Glimt we see here.
⭐ Bodo/Glimt v Rosenborg Predictions and Best Bets
Until Bodo Glimt re-find their form then they must be opposed. Rosenborg are good enough to avoid defeat anyway and they have started the season very strongly. Glimt look too short in the betting and you can back Rosenborg on the double chance at 2.0. This is too big on a team who won at this venue last season.
Rosenborg could operate defensively just like they did away to Brann recently when they drew 0-0. They have a strong defence this season and all of their 8 league games have gone under 3.5 goals. Just one Bodo Glimt fixture has gone over 3.5 goals this season so this looks set to be a relatively low scoring game. Taking the under 3.5 goal line @1.44 covers for any 2-1 win either way and the 1-1 draw.
Both teams are unbeaten at half time in the Eliteserien this season and there is a good chance that this game will be all square at the interval. You can back the HT draw at 2.25 but just taking Rosenborg +1 on the half time handicap @1.57 gives us two possible winning outcomes, with either Rosenborg leading or a draw. They’ve been ahead in 5 out of 8 contests this season and yet to concede a first half goal.
🟡 Bodo/Glimt have lost four consecutive games
Bodo Glimt have lost four consecutive matches in all competitions although only one of those has been in the Eliteserien. They lost last Friday away to local rivals Tromso 2-1 and they are 8th in the table. Glimt have played just five matches though and have several in hand on opponents.
Bodo Glimt have a 100% home record in the league with two comfortable 3-0 wins against Ham Kam and KFUM Oslo respectively. They have only kept one clean sheet in their last 8 games in all competitions though so this defence has proven vulnerable. The recent injury to Odin Bjortuft has not helped matters, although he could return for this game.
⚪ Rosenborg are the only remaining unbeaten team
Rosenborg sit second in the Eliteserien table and are the only remaining unbeaten team with 5 wins and 3 draws. Central to their success has been a brilliant defensive record which has seen them concede just two goals. One of those was a late penalty and RBK have had much more control in games this season.
Their most recent away match was a tight and congested 0-0 draw at Brann and they might opt for a similar defensive gameplan here. Rosenborg have also won all of their Norwegian Cup matches this season and haven’t lost an away match in the Eliteserien since 11th August last year.
📊 Bodo/Glimt v Rosenborg Head-to-Head Key Stats
Head-to-head meetings in the last four years have generally been close. There have been 4 draws, 2 Rosenborg wins and 2 Bodo Glimt wins during that period. Rosenborg sensationally beat Glimt 3-2 at this stadium back in late October which was the last time these two teams met. 5 of the last 6 meetings have gone over 2.5 goals with both teams scoring.
Rosenborg came from 1-2 behind to win that match last year and were clinical with their chances. Despite getting outgunned on xG 3.55 to 1.30 and getting out-cornered 13 to 6, they managed to get the victory thanks to a late goal. That was the only defeat Bodo Glimt suffered at home in the Eliteserien last season so Rosenborg can take plenty of confidence from that fact.
