Specialist in Scandinavian & European soccer. I have been in the betting game for nearly 20 years now with a summer focus on the Norwegian & Swedish leagues. With an in-depth knowledge of the region & teams I have been involved in a specialist podcast & more for close to a decade. My favourite types of bets are attacking the goal lines and identifying the tactics & style of each team & manager who can contribute positively. Outside of betting I was once a Sunday League goalkeeper myself. But my boots are now retired and instead prefer to hit up the cricket pitch and golf course in my spare time.

Over 2.5 Bodo/Glimt Goals

One area to attack is the Bodo/Glimt individual team total over 2.5 goals. Glimt have the best average xG per game in the Eliteserien (2.08) and have racked up 32 goals in 14 fixtures.

Kjetil Knutsen’s men have scored at least three goals in six fixtures this season and have netted 18 times in seven home games. Valerenga have faced two sides away from home inside the top half of the table and lost on both occasions, 1-2 v Tromso and then Sandefjord. This is a step up in class and Bodo/Glimt are very capable of hitting them for at least three goals.

Kasper Hogh to Score Anytime

Bodo Glimt’s top striker Kasper Hogh has been in brilliant form this season, scoring 10 goals in 14 Eliteserien matches. He is once again the go-to man for a goalscorer bet in the game.

Hogh netted away to Viking last week with a very good finish and he also scored in his most recent home match v Sandefjord. In that fixture he had another three goals disallowed by VAR to tight offsides. He’s been getting into some great positions this season and at 1.73 looks a fair price to score again.

  • Bodo/Glimt have the best xG and xGA metrics in the Eliteserien

  • Bodo/Glimt have led at half time in 10 out of 14 fixtures this term

  • Striker Kasper Hogh has been in great form, scoring 10 league goals in 14 games so far

Bodo/Glimt look like they mean business again after winning three consecutive matches and claiming a crucial win away to title rivals Viking last week. They are clear 1.20 favourites to beat newly promoted Valerenga at home, and should get the job done with a minimum of fuss.

🟡 Crucial Win Last Week Gets Glimt back on Track

Bodo/Glimt are 4th in the Eliteserien table and have won three consecutive matches. Their victory away to title rivals Viking last week 4-2 was a massive result for the club and puts their title credentials back in their own hands.

They are now only seven points adrift of Viking at the top, but have three games in hand. Glimt have dropped silly points at times this year, but the underlying metrics have them as clearly the best team. They have the best average xG per game (2.08) and by far the best xGA (0.97).

🔵 Victory Gives Valerenga Breathing Space

It was a welcome win for Valerenga last week, 3-0 at home to rock bottom side Haugesund. It was a convincing victory, although their opponents are woeful this season. Valerenga are now four points clear of the relegation zone in 11th place.

Their underlying metrics suggest they could be performing better. Their average xG per game of 1.73 is actually the 5th most in the league, and they should have scored 26 goals rather than their actual 20.

📊 Bodo/Glimt v Valerenga H2H

Bodo/Glimt have won the last seven competitive meetings, the last of which was in the Norwegian Cup back in 2023 when Bodo Glimt won 4-2.

All of the last four meetings have gone over 3.5 goals and the last two Eliteserien meetings between the two sides at this venue resulted in 5-1 and 4-2 Bodo/Glimt victories.
